PA, to John Duncan of afsd, for $1,360 paid, sell piece of land containing 144 acres and a quarter on the waters of Raccoon Creek in Smiths Twp, by land of Jeremiah Andrews, land of James Moore, land of William Ferguson and Henry Fullerton, land of Levi Cully, land of James Brown, being part of a tract of land called Birmingham, granted by patent to George Day 4 April 1793 in Patent Book No.19 pg.254, and the afsd 144 acres 1/4 was by George Day and his wife Catherine conveyed by indenture 1797 recorded in Washington Co. Love, a road, containing 332 acres 3 rods 32 poles and is the same tract of land for which Freelove Greer and George Felter covenanted to convey to the above named John Lawton or to have the same conveyed on the behalf of Eliza Vilette now the above named Eliza Duncan, and in conformity to the bond and in discharge thereof, we the above named Jas. & Eliza do convey the said lands. /s/ James Duncan, E.T. PA; for $350, sell to Richard Miller their right etc. to the one undivided fifth part of a tract or piece of land ... (meets & bounds not copied) containing 183 acres some perches (it is part of the tract of land granted to James McNairy decest in pursuence of a warrant dated 8 Sept. 1785) for which a patent was obtained 26 Sept. 1787 and inroled in the Rolls Office in Patent Book No.11 page 221 on 29 Sept. 1787; and by the said James McNary decest bequeathed to the said Elizabeth Duncan in his will dated 17 Feb. 1815 duly proven and recorded in the office for recording wills, and the said Elizabeth Duncan legatee of the said James McNairy decest by instrument dated 27 Feb. 1818 appointed her husband the said Henry Duncan her attorney in fact to sell the undivided fifth part together with the right etc. of him the said Henry Duncan attorney in fact for Elizabeth Duncan his wife in virtue of the power of attorney. /s/ Henry Duncan. Whereas PA confirmed to William McClelland a certain tract of land called the Tripple Attack on Kings Creek in Washington Co. by deed 1 Feb. 1799 containing 362 acres strict measure, Patent Book No.35 pg.212, and William McClelland and Magdelena his wife on 22 Oct. 1814 conveyed all the tract except 150 acres to William McClelled Junr., and William McClelland Junr. conveyed part of same containing 110 acres and 97 perches to Robert Stewart and the remainder to Hugh Jackson, and Hugh Jackson and Margaret his wife by deed 28 Aug. 1824 conveyed the remainder to John Davis, and John Davis and Eleanor his wife by deed dated 3 Dec. 1828 conveyed part of said part containing 64 acres 95 perches to George Chamberlain, Therefore, THIS INDENTURE made 3 Dec. 1828 by above George Chamberlain and wife Mary of Hanover Twp, Washington Co.
