      B-302/304: 28 Feb. 1801, William Duncan late of the City of Philadelphia now of the Borough of Lancaster in Lancaster Co. PA, Esq., and wife Maria for $120 paid by James Trimble of said Borough, Tanicher?, sell land in 6th District of Donation Land on west side of the Allegheny River in Venango Co. PA, number MCLXII, adj. vacant land, Lot No.1161, Lot No.1155, Lot No.105, containing 200 acres, No.1162, granted 10 present month to said William Duncan, to said James Trimble. /s/ Wm. Duncan, Maria Duncan. Wit. Grace Rieger, Thomas Butcher. 7 March 1801 Thomas Butcher, one of the witnesses, appeared before Frederick Kuhn, one of the Associate Judges of Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster Co.       A-282/285: Ebenezer Campbell of Hopewell Twp, Cumberland Co. PA, yeoman, Dr. John Simpson and John Duncan administrators of estate of Francis Campbell late of Shippensburgh, decd, in said county, and John Calhoun of Chambersburgh, William Rippey in Franklin Co. PA, with Benjamin Reynolds, David Mahon Junior, and Thomas Jacobs, all of Cumberland Co. PA, guardians of estate and heirs of Francis Campbell afsd; WHEREAS Samuel McKnight, John McKnight, Francis Campbell and Ebenezer Campbell entered into an agreement with Paul ?ousle? and Ham Jane Heidekoper agents for Holland Co. for the purchase of sundry tracts of land in PA on waters of Allegheny River on the east side thereof, for which certain sum of money, part of the purchase money, was paid by said Samuel and John McKnight and Francis and Ebenezer Campbell, and another article of agreement was entered into between Samuel and John McKnight, Francis Campbell and Ebenezer Campbell with H.I. Heidekoper for the purchase of certain lands, on afsd waters, for which a certain portion of the purchase money was paid and a certain sum were yet to be paid, for which Samuel and John McKnight, Francis and Ebenezer Campbell were bound to said Paul Busti and H.J. Heidekoper, by sundry writings, Samuel and John McKnight assigned their claim to Ebenezer Campbell, and Ebenezer Campbell is entitled to 5/6 of the purchase and Francis Campbell to 1/6 part, and Francis and his wife both being dead, NOW Ebenezer Campbell for himself, Doctor John Simpson and John Duncan, administrators as afsd, John Calhoun, William Rippey, Benjamin Reynolds, David Mahon Junior, and Thomas Jacobs guardians of the heirs of said Francis Campbell, for the relinquishment of all moneys now due ... said lands to ... agents of Holland Company, 10 Sept. 1811.       72-49/55: 4 Nov. 1864, Thomas G. Duncan of Cornplanter Twp, Venango Co. PA, and James G. Duncan of City of Pittsburgh, Commonwealth afsd, by atty in fact the said Thomas G. Duncan, constituted by Letter of Attorney 31 May 1864, recorded Venango Co. Deed Book AA pg.346, to John D. McCord of City of Pittsburg, Allegheny Co. PA, that Francis B. Blood and Hiram A. Blood by article of agreement 12 Feb. 1862 recorded Book BB pg.41 agreed to sell to Thomas G. Duncan for 97 years, a parcel of land in Cornplanter Twp, Venango Co. PA, containing 3 acres and being part of "The Blood Farm" for $80 then paid and further sum of $25 to be paid in the event Thomas G. Duncan striking a 400 barrel well, which event has not yet transpired, which parcel of land the said Thomas Duncan divided into four lots and numbered on a map of lots on the said "Blood Farm" 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Thomas G. Duncan by article of agreement the (blank day and month) 1862 leased the said lot No.3 containing 1/2 of 1 acre to William Richardson and Hardy Copeland for the residue of the term, reserving 1/2 of all the oil obtained as royalty, and Thomas G. Duncan by article of agreement ... 1862 leased lot No.4 containing 1/2 of 1 acre to Charles Knox, John Walley and W.C. Wilson for the residue of the term, reserving as royalty 3/8 of all the oil obtained, and Francis B. Blood and Hiram A. Blood by article of agreement 29 Sept. 1862 recorded Deed Book BB pg.42 agreed to sell to Thomas G. Duncan for 80 years a parcel of land in afsd adj. the land above and containing 1 acre and 96 perches for sum of $20 then paid and further sum of $100 to be paid if Thomas G. Duncan shall ever have a well on said lot and get it to flow 30 barrels per day, which parcel Thomas G. Duncan divided into 3 lots numbered 5, 6 and 7, and in article of agreement 17 Nov. 1862 leased lot No.5 containing 1/2 acre to Augustine Keogh for 60 years, reserving as royalty 1/2 of all the oil obtained, and by sundry conveyances the said James F. Duncan has become interested in the 3 lots leased as afsd, and Thomas G. Duncan and one Lawrence Greeninger owning other pieces in afsd, at a corner of Campbells Refinary Lot, corner of Lot 7 on Rachel Hoggs plan of lots, alley between lots 7 and 17, containing 3/4 of 1 acre, by agreement 15 Aug. 1864 leased the same to Frederick W. Perkins and Lewis J. Vananden for 20 years, reserving as royalty 1/2 of all the oil obtained therefrom. And Cromwell J. Lloyd and John W. Sleetin? by agreement 20 Aug. 1861 leased to Asa B. Walden a lot in afsd containing about 1/2 of 1 acre No.11, reserving as royalty 3/8 of all the oil obtained, and Asa B. Walden by deed 22 Oct. 1861 leased the lot to Charles Hart, Marshall Hart, Silas S. Safford, and Joseph Hart, reserving a royalty 1/8 part of all oil obtained to be delivered to Asa B. Walden, and 3/8 to be delivered to Lloyd and Sleet and afterward by endorsement 1 March 1864 transferred to Thomas G. Duncan all Asa B. Walden's right to the indenture, recorded Venango Co. Deed Book AA pg.344; and George C. Prather and others by deed 28 July 1864 recorded Deed Book GG pg.124 leased to Thomas G. Duncan for 98 years another parcel in afsd containing 12 acres, reserving as royalty 1/4 of all oil and mineral obtained, which Thomas G. Duncan divided into lots of 1 acre each, numbered from 1 to 12, and by agreement 18 Aug. 1864 leased two of the lots numbered 11 and 12 to Stephen Jarvis, David McKee, John Crawford, Edward Crawford, Christopher Ohlenhousen, and Brice Tracy for 40 years, reserving as royalty 1/2 of all oil obtained, and one Thomas Wilson McCalmont on 29 July 1864 recorded Deed Book GG pg.122 leased to Thomas G. Duncan another parcel of land in afsd containing 12 acres, reserving as royalty 1/4 part of all oil and minerals for 98 years (MAD: quit copying here); NOW the parties of the first part for $97,000 paid, sell all the undivided parts of the lots of land and leasehold estates hereinbefore described, ... (MAD: quit copying), together with appurtenances, subject to the covenants, agreements and reservations, subject to the leases by Thomas G. Duncan. /s/ Thomas G. Duncan, James F.          John D. McCord of City of Pittsburg, Allegheny Co. PA, for $97,000 paid by the "Cherry Run and Blood Farm Oil Company" of Pittsburg, assign all my right to all the foregoing agreements and leases in the foregoing indenture or agreement between Thomas G. Duncan of Cornplanter Twp, Venango Co. PA, and James G. Duncan of City of Pittsburg by his attorney in fact the said Thomas G. Duncan, and the said John D. McCord, dated 4 Nov. 1864, together with appurtenances, for the respective terms for which John D. McCord holds the same, (blank day) April 1865, John D.
