      A1-64/65: 9 Dec. 1801, William Duncan and Maria his wife of City of Philadelphia to Thomas Courtney of Franklin Co., mason, for 20 pounds PA money, sell all that tract or parcel of land granted to Jacob Doddrige by patent 11 Jan. 1787 who on 21 Nov. 1787 conveyed to Anthony Mussanung in fee who by assignment 6 Aug. 1796 conveyed the same to William Duncan in fee, which tract is in the Second district of Donation lands late Allegheny Co., beg. at the numbered corner, then by Lot No.1794, lot No.1791, lot No.1796, by vacant land to the beginning, containing 200 acres, Numbered 1795. /s/ Wm. PA, that by patent 18 Sept. 1787 confirmed to James Moore a Serjent in the late Armey of US a tract of land in the fourth district of Donation lands beg. at a post the numbered corner, then by lot No.75, by lot No.73, by lot No.494?, by lot No.78, to the beginning, containig 250 acres, numbered LXXVII, and the said James Moore endorsed on the back of the patent 20 Sept. 1787 conveyed the same to Daniel Richards, Lumber merchant of City of Philladelphia who by will dated 11 Oct. 1793 appointed his wife Rachel Richards and his friends Jno. Biddle, Richard Whitehead, Nathan Sheppard, and Samuel Clark Executors and authorized them to sell all or any of his land, and the said John Biddle, Richard Whitehead and Samuel Clark renounced their executorship, the same devolved on Rachel Richard and Nathan Sheppard, and said Nathan Shepard is since dead, so the said Rachel Richards became the sole executrix, and said Rachel Richards 11 Dec. 1800 conveyed among others the above tract to the within named Jno.       E-#164: 12 May 1800, John Matthews of Marietta, Territory North of River Ohio, to John Duncan of City of Philadelphia, that Matthews received of Duncan land warrants to the amount of 1,000 acres of land appropriated for military warrants, and for the Society of the United Brethren for Propagating Gospel among the heathen, for which registry and location Matthews was to receive 1/10 part; he located and a patent was issued on 12 May 1800 for Second 1/4 of 7th Township 11th Range, 3,185? acres?, Now John Matthews for consideration of the warrants and for 100 acres, being 1/10th part, release and quit claim to John Duncan the 2nd Quarter in Lot #1.

I, Samuel Holden Parsons of City of Marietta in Washington Co., Territory of US northwest of River Ohio Esqr, for $500 paid by Richard Butler of Carlisle in Cumberland Co. PA, Esqr., sell to him the said Richard Butler 1/8 part of 4,000 acres of land in said Territory of US adj. a place called the Salt Springs on the Big Beaver Creek which 4000 acres are bounded ... beg. at the Salt Springs near the Big Beaver Creek in Washington Co. about 14 miles west of the west line of PA and from said springs a line to be extended north to the parallel of the 4th boundary in a patent granted me by the State of CT dated 10 Feb. 1788. And from said Springs to extend south so far as that line drawn at right angles through those points will include said 4,000 acres of land, together with 1/8 of said Salt Springs and of the privileges and appurtenances to said 4000 acres of land belonging. ... 5 November 1788. /s/ Saml. William Irvine and David Duncan on 22 May 1789, sell the premises described in the within deed of sale to be equally divided between the said parties their heirs and assigns as they may think proper. /s/ Richd.
