Washington Co. PA Deeds (FHL film 862,519; from Charles A. Duncan 10/1992)
      1X-342: 15 Dec. 1806, John Duncan of Ohio State of the Ohio to his brother Andrew Duncan of Washington Co. PA; that John Duncan father of the above John and Andrew Duncan died intestate and left a certain tract of land in Chartiers Township, Washington Co. PA adjoining land of James McNary and others where said Andrew Duncan now lives; there were eight heirs to said land, viz, Elizabeth, Anne, Margaret, John, Andrew, Mary, Susannah, and Isabella; that John Duncan purchased those of his sisters claims and caused them to make over their claims to Andrew Duncan, in the records in Washington Co., Viz, Anne, Margaret, and Mary; that John Duncan for $400 paid by Andrew Duncan, sells to Andrew Duncan all his right to his part of the land, the said 1/8 of the tract and likewise his sisters, viz, Anne Duncan, Margaret Duncan, and Mary Duncan, parts. Wit. William Slemons, William Slemons, Jr. Receipt 15 Dec. 1860 for $500 (sic). John Duncan ack. deed in Washington Co. PA before William Slemons, JP, 12/15/1806. Rec. 5/31/1813.
 

Fleming Co. KY County Court Minutes (Order Book), Vol.E-F, Oct. 1827 - Aug. 1840 (FHL film 343,960)
      E-86: Court held 4 Nov. 1828, came John Finley of Fleming Co. KY, and deposed that he was well acquainted with David Duncan who died in the City of Pittsburg [Allegheny Co.], PA, in 1792; that he also knows that said David Duncan purchased a land warrant for 3,000 acres from David Holmes; that said Duncan had said warrant laid on 3,000 acres, to wit, 1000 acres on the waters of Darby Creek, 1000 acres on the waters of Mill Creek, and the remaining 1000 acres on the waters of Bokes Creek, all in state of OH; said warrant was laid on said land by Lucas Sullivan; that the heirs & legal representatives of said David Duncan are Hannah Finley, Margaret Holvey, Margaret Christy, and Abram Clarke, the first two are children of said David Duncan & the two last are grandchildren, being children of Mary Clarke late Mary Duncan daughter of said David Duncan; the said Hannah Finley is now the wife of John Finley and Margaret Christy is now the wife of Rutherford Christy and all reside in the State of KY & are the heirs of said David Duncan; /s/ John Finley; which is ordered to be recorded & certified.       Applied 23 Oct. 1832, age 73, in Decatur Co. IN; b. 1759 in Frederick Co. MD; drafted for 3 months in spring 1778 in Rowan Co. NC under Capt. Joseph Craig, Col. Francis Lock/Lick, Gen. Rutherford; drafted for 3 months in spring 1781 in Rowan Co. near Salisbury where he then lived under Capt. Thorp, Gen. Davison; witnesses James Loyed, Jesse McPherson and Hardin Loyd of Decatur Co. IN.
      (MAD: one Edward Duncan mar. Bethena Tomlinson 12/14/1829 Decatur Co. IN; Bethany Duncan sued for divorce because he abandoned her having sold much of the personal property belonging to her; granted 4/1831; in Complete Record Book B-293; from pg.410, "Court Records of Decatur Co. NY, Philomela widow of Jonathan Giddings of Sherman in Fairfield Co. CT, Chloe wife of Wm. Duncan of OH & Marcia widow of William P.       Pg.173: ALEXANDER DUNCAN Represented Hamilton county in the house in the Twenty-seventh and Thirtieth general assemblies, 1828-1829 and 1831-1832, and was a member of the state senate from 1832 to 1834. He was elected to the Twenty-fifth congress in 1836 from the First district, Hamilton county, and re-elected to the Twenty-sixth in 1838, and the Twenty-seventh in 1842. During his three terms in congress Mr. Duncan was an industrious and painstaking legislator. He was born in 1788, and died March 22, 1852.
      Pg.193: DANIEL DUNCAN of Licking county, a successful merchant, served one term in the congress, having been elected to the Thirtieth congress in 1846 from the Tenth district, composed of the counties of Licking, Franklin and Delaware. He was born in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, July 22, 1806, and died in Washington, D.C., June, 1849, immediately following the close of his term. (MAD: Shippensburg, Cumberland Co. PA)
