OH, weak in body; to my wife Jane Dunken all personal property except hereinafter excepted; to my eldest son Adam Dunkin my young sorrel horse and my great coat; regarding my freehold which is the farm I now live on in Wayne Twp, Jefferson Co., to my wife the north side of said farm beg. on the line between Thomas Moores and myself to her and her heirs forever if she live and die my widow, but if she should marry, she forfeit her right; until my youngest son William Duncan arrive at 21. Twenty acres of my land be sold to pay my debts, beg. at SE corner, or if desired, sell 30 acres. PA, Esqr., sell to him the said Richard Butler 1/8 part of 4,000 acres of land in said Territory of US adj. a place called the Salt Springs on the Big Beaver Creek which 4000 acres are bounded ... beg. at the Salt Springs near the Big Beaver Creek in Washington Co. about 14 miles west of the west line of PA and from said springs a line to be extended north to the parallel of the 4th boundary in a patent granted me by the State of CT dated 10 Feb. 1788. OH, and engaged with a Mr. Plumer as a laborer. About 1826 took flat-boat of flour to New Orleans, forwarded it to Mexico to sell, returned mostly on foot. Became apprentice to Plummer to learn fulling & carding industry to 1830. Then to Holmes Co.; his brother William Duncan had come first; they bought farm in Mechanic Twp. & built fulling & carding mill; William kept it. John to Coshocton Co., built saw-mill etc. on Doughty's Fork; 1851 to Holmes Co.; retired 1874, d. July 12, 1878, in Killbuck. (MAD: John was son of Andrew who d. 1817 Jefferson Co. OH)
John's father (unnamed) was native of Scotland, to Washington Co. PA while young man, there married Jane Wiley, sister of Dr. Wiley of Washington Co. PA University, and settled there. Death of Mrs. Duncan.
Mrs. Catherine, wife of Alexander Duncan, died this morning at 7 o'clock at the family residence on South Fifth Street, aged 69 years. Mrs. Duncan had been ill about one month with a complication of diseases. Deceased, whose maiden name was Catherine Knox, was born in Florence [Washington Co.], Pa., in 1830. In 1860 she was married to Alex Duncan, who was also a resident of that section. In 1872 the family came to Steubenville where they have since resided. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband and five children, Mrs. C.L. Beebout, of Wellsville, and Ada, George, Edward and Maude at home. One sister, Mrs. Mary Gilmore, lives at Holliday's Cove, and two half brothers are in the west. She was a member of the First M.E. Church and a most estimable woman, respected by a large circle of friends.

SAMUEL C. DICKINSON, of Wellsville, New York, and MISS ADA DUNCAN, of this city, were married Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at Hamline parsonage by Rev. A.R. CHAPMAN. They left immediately after the ceremony for Pittsburg where they will remain for a few days before going to Clarksbug [sp], W. Va., where MR. DICKINSON has oil interests. The bride is a daughter of ALEX. S. DUNCAN, of this city, and a most estimable and accomplished young woman with a large circle of friends. MR. DICKINSON is an extensive oil operator.

PRESIDENT M'KINLEY
Attends a Wedding at Youngstown and Concludes His Tour.
Youngstown, O., Oct 19 --- (KDC: a large article opens with his last speech of his tour) .... Having taken dinner aboard the train, the PRESIDENT, MRS. McKINLEY and MISS BARBER were driven to the residence of DR. DEETRICK to attend the wedding of MISS ANNA VIOLA DEETRICK to DR. WILLIAM McKINLEY DUNCAN, son of ANDREW K. DUNCAN and nephew of PRESIDENT McKINLEY. An hour later the PRESIDENT and his cabinet entered carriages and were driven to St. Columbia's hall, where a public reception was given. The PRESIDENT greeted hundreds of his boyhood friends with a hearty handshake and a kind word. The reception lasted until 10 o'clock. At that hour the party returned to the train, which left immediately for the east.
At Niles, O., the birthplace of the PRESIDENT, he was accorded a generous welcome, to which he responded feelingly.

Death of William Duncan.
WILLIAM DUNCAN died Tuesday morning, July 25, at the home of his son, JOHN, in Salineville. MR. DUNCAN was born in County Derry, Ireland, in 1822, and came to America in 1842. He was a member of the famous "Round Head" regiment, the 100th Pennsylvania. He lived at Monroeville, Brush Creek township, many years, and was well known in the northern part of Jefferson county. MR. DUNCAN was a Covenanter in religious belief. He leaves two children, JOHN and ISABELLA. The funeral will take place Thursday at 10 A.M.. at Salineville cemetery.
