NC, to Arnold Duncan of same county & state; whereas Donald Stewart by his will recorded Guilford Co., devised to his wife the farm on which he resided containing 300 acres and all his stock, etc., for her life after payment of his debts, and also left her livestock etc., and negro slaves Nancy & her three children Katy, Donald & Sandy, for Susannah to dispose of as she wished, and other slaves for her lifetime (named but not copied here) ...; it is now intended that the Rites of Matrimony shall shortly after the execution of this indenture be solemnized between Susannah Stewart and Arnold Duncan; that after marriage, Arnold Duncan does not acquire any right to the estate mentioned; that after marriage, Arnold Duncan and Susannah shall occupy the farm ... /s/ Arnold Duncan, Susanna Stewart.
