The parents of our subject came to Missouri in 1837 and settled in Warren County. Early in 1849 they came to Saline County and remained there until the death of the father in 1881. The family consisted of four sons and two daughters. ... Thomas Conway [Shumate] married Miss Elizabeth Duncan, and resides in Texas County, Mo. ...
