IR-#AM-99: 1 Aug. 1693, Barbara (~) Mould of Baltimore Co., Maryland, spinster, to Thomas Kerksley of same, for 1600 pounds of tobacco to her paid, 133 acres and the third part of an acre, being the middle megs. (messuage?) third of a divident called "Mould's Success" lying in Baltimore Co. on the west side of Swan? Creek, adj. Deep Valley, the land granted Mr. William Palmer, up the Creek; containing according to survey 400 acres more or less, being formerly surveyed for John Mould father of the said Barbara ... the said 133-1/3 acres came by devise? to have and to hold the said parcel of land to Thomas Kerksly from the said Barbara her heirs ... Wit. James Phillips, Thos. Smith. Memorandum 2 Aug. 1693, ack. by Barbara Mould in court. (FHL film 13,325) (LB: John Dunkin's wife, Ann Mould, inherited 133-1/3a from her father, and John's father was said to have taken over the land after her father died. Wm. Galloway was to convey this land to Michael Judd 1694 -- no deed found for this land either being bought or sold. The Judd and Mould families are in MD very early. John Mould in Baltimore Co. MD, no will or inventory. A John Mould came to St. Charles Co. MD 1663 and had will (missed date) naming daughter Francis Posey. Patrick Dunkin in 1830 will in Frederick Co. VA had a daughter Posey. The name Mott means "at the moat"; possibly Mould or Mott was changed to Moat.)
