Book Four, page 516, suit to quiet title to land, Joshua C. Marquiss sold to Abagail Marquiss 11 April 1873, in the list of defendants is named a Drusa A. Toliver who was not named in the settlement of the Estate of Isaac Sen., leading me to believe Drusa is daughter of Abagail from a previous marriage.

Marquiss, and heirs of Abagail Marquiss, suit to quite title to land Joshua C. Marquiss sold to Abagail Marquiss, 11 April 1873; is mentioned a Drusa A. Toliver who appears to be a descendant of Abagail. All others mentioned in this document are descendants of Isaac, Sen. Dates on this Quite Title are; 9th day of October 1883 and title was vested in Joshua C. Marquiss on the 10th day of April 1883. Pg.686, Jefferson Township: Matthew Duncan, (of the firm of Lantz & Duncan, dealers in general merchandise, Mexico, IN), was born in Clinton Co. OH July 7, 1854. His parents, Emanuel and Margaret (Stotlar) Duncan moved to Grant Co. IN about 1856, and from thence, subsequently, to Miami Co. In about 1877, he returned to Grant Co., where he still resides; the mother died in Miami Co. in about 1868. Matthew Duncan, our subject, came with his parents to this county, where he was married August 20, 1877, to Julia A., dau. of John and Julia A. Hines; she was born in Fairfield Co. OH, Oct. 5, 1857. After Mr. Duncan's marriage, he first settled in Fulton Co. IN, where he engaged in farming about one year, after which he moved to Miami Co., and subsequently to Grant Co., where he resided until 1884, when he moved to Mexico, IN, and formed a partnership with Mr. Lantz in the mercantile business, purchasing the interest of Mr. Sullivan. He has had born to him four children, viz: Emanuel (deceased), Marion F., Lillie and Rosie B.; Mr. Duncan and wife are members of the Baptist Church.

His Miller ancestors, Scotch and English, came to America in the seventeenth century. His branch of the family located in Oneida County, New York, in 1795. He was next to the youngest in the family of ten children of Curtis and Lucy (Duncan) Miller, the former a native of New York and the latter of Massachusetts.
