KY Deed V-118 in 1837; however, land records in Fayette Co. IL show one Nimrod Duncan there as early as 1829; this may have been Nimrod Duncan Jr., but facts are not known at this time.

      Pg.124,127: J.P. PRICE, Montgomery Co., farmer, East Fork township. He was born in Fayette county, Illinois, October 22, 1849, a son of Thomas and Celia (Duncan) Price. The father, a native of Virginia, remained in that state until about twenty years of age, when he removed to Tennessee, where he carried on general farming, ... he died in the year 1861. In his family were eight children, three sons and five daughters, of whom four are now living. J.P. Price remained a resident of Fayette Co. until age 16, then to Montgomery Co., married Dec. 13, 1872, to Miss Helen Isabel McNitt, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Cress) McNitt. ....

      Pg.124-128 contain an article about William Linn of Ste.Genevieve and Perry Cos. MO and Fayette Co. IL, by Phyllis J. Bauer, assisted by Norman R. Peters. "This article first appeared in the surname quarterly 'Lynn/Linn Lineage,' Vol. VII, No. 1 - Spring 1993." Among other things, the article says that William Linn of Ste.Genevieve married Polly Ann Duncan of Cape Girardeau, about the end of 1819, and refers to tax lists in Perry Co. MO from 1819 to 1826. The article says that Polly Ann Duncan was the sister of Joseph Duncan, Governor of Illinois 1834-1838, and that the Linns lived in or near Vandalia, Fayette Co. IL, when William died in 1847. The article has much more about their family and lives, and lists sources.

      Pgs.89-92 contain an article about the Duncan Family, with the note that material for the sketch of the Duncan Family was furnished by Mrs. Irene Brookshier of Moweaqua, IL, her daughter, Glenora Brookshier Cole of Phoenix, Ariz. & R.A. Carlock of Taylorville, Ill. The older generations had been printed in a book by Nancy Reba Roy, "Descendants of William Duncan, the Elder." The article covers Nimrod Duncan, b.ca 1766 Culpeper Co. VA, d. bef. 1836 in Logan Co. KY, mar. 12/24/1797 in VA to Lucy Browning; his widow Lucy was in Morgan Co. IL in 1836 where she gave power of attorney to her son Charles B. Duncan of Morgan Co. to settle the estate of the deceased Nimrod Duncan in Logan Co. KY. The settlement of the estate named all the heirs. The article gives much more about the children of Nimrod Duncan and Lucy Browning, and the children of his son Nimrod Duncan (Jr.) and Mary Ann Brown. Greenup B. Duncan, son of Nimrod Duncan (Sr.), lived in Greene Co. IL. Charles Browning Duncan, son of Nimrod Duncan (Sr.), died in 1873 in Erath Co. TX, from other information, author unknown.
