      I-416/417: State of Arkansas, per act to prevent speculation of donation lands and to dispense with the making improvements thereon to minors and married women, approved 12 Dec. 1850, Lucinda Duncan has applied to me, Alexander S. Huey, Auditor of Public Accounts of AR, to obtain a donation to SE 1/4 Sec.34 Twp.4S Range 5W of 5th principal meridian containing 160 acres, and it appearing that the tract of land applied for has been forfeited to the state and offered at public auction for sale and not sold, NOW on the condition that Lucinda F. Duncan will regularly and annually pay the taxes, do grant to said Lucinda F. Duncan all the right, title and interest of the State of AR to the tract of land. /s/ 21 May 1855, A.S. Huey, Auditor. Jan. 1856 signed the certificate and land to William Duncan and the Auditor of Public Accounts of AR by certificate 1 Dec. 1858 certified the land has been patented to the US as a portion of the swamp and overflowed lands ... and purchase money of $60 has been paid, therefore William Duncan is entitled to a deed from the State of AR, NOW Elias N. Conway, Governor of State of Arkansas, have conveyed to said William Duncan the tracts of land designated, in Desha Co., containing 80 acres. /s/ Elias N. Conway, at Little Rock, 1 Dec. 1858. D.B. State of AR, per act to enable State of AR & other states to reclaim the swamp lands, approved 28 Sept. 1850, the swamp and overflowed lands that remained unsold were granted to the state, and the state of AR passed an act 6 Jan. 1851 approved 15 Jan. 1851 ... governor to make deeds ... Land agent granted his certificate dated 7 Nov. 1857 No.333 in favor of W. Duncan and Samuel Mitchell as the original purchasers showing that said W. Duncan and Samuel Mitchell were entitled to certificate of purchase to obtain a deed to lands: NE 1/4 Sec.11 and N 1/2 NW 1/4 Sec.11, S 1/2 SW 1/4 Sec.2 and E 1/2 SE 1/4 Sec.3 Twp.6S Range 6W, containing 400 acres, and Samuel Mitchell on 9 Dec. 1857 assigned his interest to the said certificate and land to John E. Harding and the auditor of public accounts of AR by his certificate 23 April 1859 certified the said land was patented by the US to the State of AR as a portion of the swamp and overflowed lands ..., and the purchase money for said land, $300, has been fully paid, therefore said W. Duncan and John E. Harding are entitled to a deed from State of AR for the land, NOW therefore S?. Elias N. Conway Governor of AR have conveyed to said W. Duncan and J.E. Harding the tract of land (above) containing 400 acres, with appurtenances, to said W. Duncan and John E. Harding. 23 April 1859. By Governor Elias N. Conway, D.B. Greer Secretary of State per Jos.
