In Memory of
Rev. James CLYDE,
who was born at Perth 23rd August 1776, ordained to the pastoral charge of the first United Presbyterian congregation, Loreburn Street, Dumfries, 27th June 1810, and died 7th March 1851 in the 75th year of his age and 41st of his ministry

"By a meek behaviour, a cheerful conversation and a blameless life he commended his work to all men by purity of heart, sighness of purpose and faithfulness in duty he sought the approval of his master"

And of Mary INGLES his wife, who died 1st November 1849
Also of Catherine Ann their daughter, who died 25th May 1862
Also of William Ingles CLYDE their son, who died at Courtduff, Co. Kildare, Ireland, 3rd February 1888
Also of Grace CLYDE their daughter, who died in Edinburgh 15th June 1903

Also of the following, their children, who died in infancy and whose remains are interred in St Michaels Churchyard:

William Ingles, died 7th February 1816
John, died 5th November 1820
