1850, 1860 and 1870 census shows James having been born in Tennessee - he was living with his mother, Ruth, for these census years. It appears that Ruth stated actual state where James was born, but James only remembered having been in Alabama as a young child.

1850 and 1860 census shows Wiley having been born in Tennessee - he was living with his mother, Ruth, for these census years. It appears that Ruth stated actual state where Wiley was born, but Wiley only remembered having been in Alabama as a young child.

Manerva's tombstone gives her age at death as 45. The 1880 census lists her age as 35 and the 1850 census lists her age as 15. 1845 is probably more likely than 1849 to be the correct birth year. She is listed as mulatto on the 1870 census, black on the 1880 census and white all other years.

				John married Mary E. in 1907 in Whitley Co, IN. Mary was born before 16 Apr 1876.  Census taken on April 16th, 1910 shows Mary as 34 years old.

	13	F	iv	Ruth Jeffries was born in Oct 1887.  Ruth is living with Wiley on June 1, 1900 for census. She is listed as12 years old.

1880 Ohio census shows Lewis as white, but Elizabeth and all her children as mulatto.
 

1900 Ohio Census shows Elizabeth as having been born in South Carolina, with both parents also born in South Carolina. There is confusion over her birth year, but 1842 is substantiated by the 1850 and 1860 census records which give her age (information hopefully from her parents) as 8 and 19.

The 1900 Ohio census also shows Elizabeth as having had 7 children with 5 still living.

1910 Ohio Census index shows Elizabeth Whittington age 70, born in Alabama with one daughter, Mary Eliza living in the household - index image #03950369

1880 census for Ross twp, Greene Co, OH shows Ruth Jeffrey living with George and Jemima Bowers.

Estate papers for Ruth Jeffries indicate that Louie and Clemmie are minor children, heirs at law, since Jemima is deceased. Ages and location of children are unknown.
