"Uncle" David JOY was born 16 Dec 1724 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts and was christened in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, the son of David Joy and Ruth [Ford] Joy of Rehoboth, and younger brother of Sarah Joy, Capt. David Perry's mother. "Uncle" David Joy died 26 Jan 1811 in Russia, Herkimer, New York and was buried in Gravesville Cemetery, Russia, Herkimer, New York. For more on "Uncle" David Joy click here

David married Elizabeth ALLEN, daughter of Jeremiah ALLEN and Rachel MILLARD, on 1 Dec 1747 in Warren, Bristol, Rhode Island. Elizabeth was born 1724 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Mass.. She died 13 Oct 1822 in Russia, Herkimer, New York and was buried in Gravesville Cemetery, Russia, Herkimer, New York.

+ 2 M i John JOY was born 27 Apr 1749 and died 1837. + 3 M ii Abel JOY was born 26 Oct 1750 and died 11 Apr 1813. 4 F iii Sarah JOY was born 23 Aug 1752 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. She died 1773.[Notes] + 5 M iv David JOY III was born 5 Jul 1754 and died 7 Mar 1813. 6 M v Comfort JOY was born 18 Mar 1756 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. He died after 1798 in , , Kentucky.[Notes] 7 F vi Elizabeth JOY was born 2 Oct 1757 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. She died 23 Feb 1760.[Notes] + 8 M vii Jesse JOY was born 28 Dec 1759 and died 1821. 9 M viii Abiathar JOY Maj. was born 20 Mar 1762 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. He died 31 Jul 1851 in Lafargeville, Jeff, New York.[Notes] Abiathar married Elizabeth BURT on 4 Jul 1789. Elizabeth was born 17 Jul 1765. She died 3 Nov 1848.[Notes]

4) Milea, born April 13, 1793; died Aug. 24, 1824.
5) David, born June 12, 1795; died Oct. 30, 1867. Resided at La Fargeville, NY, and Carey, Ohio. He was a member of the Russia Episcopal Church. They had children: Martha (wife of Francis Barker), Milea, Seymour H., Harrison H., Abiathar, David.
6) Abiathar, born Oct. 2, 1799; died Dec. 7, 1874, at Beaver Dams, Wis.
7) Susanna, born June 19, 1802; died June 11, 1833; married ____ Tuttle.
8) Ebenezer B., born April 28, 1804.
9) Lewis, born Oct. 12, 1807; married Julia L. Garrett.
10 M ix Lewis JOY was born 31 May 1764 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts.[Notes] Lewis married Susanna BURT, daughter of Ebenezer BURT, on 9 Oct 1792. Susanna was born about 1764.[Notes] 11 M x Benjamin JOY was born 17 Feb 1767 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. He died young.
