I Edmund BARTLETT sen'r of the county of Henry and state of Kentucky do mke this my last Will and Testament revoking all others whether verbl or written.
First, I Give and bequeath to my son Edmund my entire tract of land Amounting to about three hundred acres more or less one hundred of which I had before given him but no tittle had been made. It is understood by this he is entitled to the whole tract, The right and title of which is hereby vested in him. I also give to my son Edmund the whole of any personal estate of every description The slaves excepted. I also give to my son edm'd my Negr man named Gabriel. The above property is given to him on condition that he pays all my just debts of every description. He is also to pay my Granddaughter Thomas Ella daughter of Tho. BARTLETT dec'd the sum of six hundred dollars when she shall arrive at Eighteen yers of age or marry. I give to Thos SAMUEL (son of Reuben) one third part of the remainder of my estate which consist of Slaves to be held by him as trustee for my daughter Patsy SAMUEL & her children. The s'd Tho SAMUEL has the right to dispose of whatever property may fall him as Trustee as he may deen best for the Benefit of my s'd daughter Patsy and her children.
The Ballance of my estate which consist of Slaves to be equally divided between my daughter Mary T. TAYLOR wife of Jno TAYLOR & Philadelphia G. OWEN wife of Henry OWEN. I further appoint my son Edmund BARTLETT my sold Excr of this my last Will and Testament. It is further my will and desire that in case my Granddaughter Thomas Ella shall die before she be entitled to the Legacy bequeathed to her, that the s'd legacy being six hundred dollars be equally divided between my four children and that the same be paid in Twelve months from the time of her death. Given under my hand & Seal this 18th July 1831.
