Dec. 1, 1721. "Elizabeth JONES, widow came into court and made oath that Lewis JONES, deceased, departed this life without making any will so far as she knows or believes, and on her motion and giving security for her just and faithful administration of the said estate, certificate is granted her for obtaining administration in due form.

Nov. 2, 1722. She [Elizabeth JONES] complained that the ferry road going by her plantation was troublesome, whereupon the court appointed Thomas TURNER and Benjamin STROTHER to view it and see if changes could be made.

Feb. 1, 1722-1723. Thomas BARTLETT and Elizabeth, his wife, late widow and administratrix of Lewis JONES, deceased, petition that, since she has paid all bills, etc., against the estate, her dower in said estate may be set aside for her. The court appointed Thomas TURNER, William STROTHER and Francis WOFFENDALL to do this.

1725. Thomas BARTLETT with William MILLER, Thomas DICKENSON, Henry LONG, Jr., and Robert JOHNSON as his securities gave an indemnifying bond to release from obligation Samuel WHARTON, who at the request of Elizabeth JONES, then widow of Lewis JONES and now wife of said BARTLETT, had gone security in the sum of �500 sterling on Elizabeth�s administratrix�s bond."

"Thomas BARTLETT died about 1748 as his will was presented in court October 17, 1748* (Ibid., O.B. 1735-1751, p. 591). The will is in the lost King George will book."

*Will shows date of Oct. 7, 1748. (See Will of Thomas BARTLETT)
