Troy, N. C. Dec. 11, 1911 The Board of Commissioners for the town of Troy met in called session on date above written, the following members participating: C. J. Poole, Mayor R. T. Poole} Commissioner Dr. S. H. McCall} Commissioner J. C. Hurley} Commissioner Z. F. Cranford, Marshall
Ordered, That the judges of Election (0ct. 3, 1911, Troy Graded School, for bonds, against bonds.) J. F. Saunders, J. B. Ewing and W. G. Smitherman be paid two ($2.) each for holding election and that Registrar W. G. Smitherman be paid for two (2) days as Registrar and for registering 159 (one hundred and fifty nine) voters for above named election.
Ordered, That C. J. Poole be paid $19.00 for making out tax abstract book and tax receipts for the year 1911, also $5.75 for tax receipts and 25 cents express charge on same, aggregating even $25.00.
Ordered, That, Guilford Lumber Manufacturing Company be allowed a claim as per statement of $4.21.
Ordered, That Marshall, Z. F. Cranford be allowed pay for 122 days services as Marshall at the rate of $1.25 per day, $152.50.

The Commissioners for the town of Troy met in regular session on above written date the following members being present: C. J. Poole, Mayor J. C. Hurley} Commissioner J. W. Benson} Commissioner R. T. Poole} Commissioner Dr. S. H. McCall} Commissioner Z. F. Cranford, Marshall
Ordered, That, Troy Textile Bond be released taxes for town and Troy Graded School.
Ordered That, R. T. Poole, Guardian for Sam Kirk be released of said Sam Kirks town tax for year 1911, Sam Kirk not being within town limits.
Ordered, That, the matter of reducing W. A. Wooleys (Montgomery Furniture Co.) tax for year of 1911 be imposed on Mayor to investigate the matter at the Court House and release in same scale as released by County Commissioners.
Ordered, That G. W. Allen & Son be allowed claim of $1.70 as statement.
Ordered, That L. C. Robinson be allowed claim of $2.75 for special police service during Christmas times, 2 ¾ days at 1.00 per day.
Ordered, That Z. F. Cranford be allowed claim of $38.75 for services as Marshall for the month of January 31 days at 1.25 per day.
Ordered, That, P. H. Crook be allowed claim of $3.25 for dray services to date.

The Commissioners for the town of Troy met in called session on above date the following members being present: C. J. Poole, Mayor J. C. Hurley} Commissioner Dr. J. A. Sisk} Commissioner R. T. Poole} Commissioner Z. F. Cranford, Marshall
The Chief object of this meeting being to try to effect or facilitate a final settlement with W. R. Green, the retiring Marshall. After discussing the various phases of the business, it was, by common consent, permitted that W. R. Green use all the powers visited in him to make collections of outstanding taxes speedily and then make final settlement with Board of Commissioners.
Ordered by the board that W. R. Green be allowed pay of ten days services as Marshall from May 2 to 12th at $1.25 per day, $12.50.
Ordered by the board that W. R. Green be allowed $5.00 as reimbursement of amount paid L. Clark for scavenger Service first week of May 1911.
Ordered by the board that claim of O. B. Deaton 45 cents overcharge on town tax be investigated by the Mayor and if correct to allow Mr. Deaton reimbursement of 45 cents.

It was ordered by the board that the following ordinance be passed: An Ordinance authorizing the Southern Bell Telephone Company to use the public street of the town of Troy, N. C. for the purpose of placing poles and electrical conductors thereon. See copy on page 128.
Ordered That Troy Cross Alum. Co. be allowed claim of $16.32 for material as per statement for year of 1911.
Ordered, That Marshall, Z. F. Cranford be allowed $75.00 for services February & March 1912, 60 days @ $1.75 per day. |
