Troy, N.C. Sept. 4, 1911

The board of Commissioners for the town of Troy met in regular session on date above written, the following members being present:

C. J. Poole, Mayor

Dr. J. A. Sisk} Commissioner

R. T. Poole} Commissioner

J. C. Hurley} Commissioner

J. W. Benson} Commissioner

Z. F. Cranford, Marshall

Dr. C. Deligny, Health Officer

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

On motion duly seconded and carried it was ordered that Ordinance no. 20 be amended with the following proviso:

Provided a person operating one dray may operate additional dray or drays by paying additional tax of $5.00 annually for each additional dray operated.

On motion, seconded and carried it was ordered that the Commissioners for the Town of Troy meet in called session on Friday night Sept. 15th at 8 o’clock.

Moved, seconded and carried that penalty clause in ordinance no. 37 be stricken out.

Moved, seconded and carried that the Mayor have from 40 to 100 copies of town ordinances printed on cardboard at the best (lowest) price obtainable.

On motion, seconded and carried, it was agreed to defer the matter of fixing salary for Health Officer until the called meeting session on Sept. 15th.

There being no further business, the board adjourned.

Troy, N.C., Sept. 15, 1911

The board of Commissioners met in called session on above written date the following members being present:

C. J. Poole, Mayor

J. C. Hurley} Commissioner

Dr. S. H. McCall } Commissioner

Z. F. Cranford, Marshall

Ordered, that L. Clark be allowed six dollars per week until next regular meeting of board of Commissioners instead of five dollars or heretofore, for town scavenger service provided said L. Clark repair his cart bed and furnish his own lime, shovel, etc.

Ordered that the Mayor order town ordinances published by The Courier at Asheboro, theirs being lowest bid offered for the job.

The matter of fixing salary if as for health officer was continued until next regular meeting of board of Commissioners.

It was recommended that the Mayor investigate State authorities on matters relative to Fire limitations, etc, and recording deaths and issuing health certificates.

There being no further business the board adjourned.

“We, the undersigned judges of Election (duly appointed at a meeting of the Commissioners of The Town of Troy, North Carolina, held August 8, 1911) to be held in Troy, N.C. on the first Tuesday in October, 1911, it being the 3rd day of October, 1911 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of Troy Graded School District the question of issuing bonds for a new graded school building as authorized by Chapter 69; do hereby report the following result of said election:

Number of votes cast “For Schools” 115

Number of votes cast “Against Schools” 15
