Page 106 May 12, 1911 The commissioners for the town of Troy Met on above date. The following members being present:
R.T. Poole On motion of R. T. Poole, resignation of W. R. Green was accepted.
On motion of R. T. Poole, the name of Z. F. Cranford was presented to the board for Marshall of the town of Troy. Motion Carried. Mr. Z. F. Cranford is declared duly elected Marshall of the town of Troy for the ensuing term of two years.
North Carolina Montgomery County. I, Z. F. Cranford, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina and the constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be established for the government thereof, and that I will endeavor to support and maintain and defend the constitution of said State not inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and ability; and I do further solemnly swear that I will well and truly execute the duties of the office of town Marshall of the Town of Troy, State of North Carolina, according to law and to the best of my skill and ability: So help me God.
