To any Ordained Minister of any Religious Denomination, or any Justice of the Peace of said County: I, W.E. Davis having applied to me for a LICENSE for the Marriage of  Alfred Cranford of Randolph Co., aged 21 years, color white, the son of  Williamson Cranford and Carolina Cranford, the father now living, the mother living, resident of Randolph Co. AND Margaret Brewer of Montgomery Co., aged 21 years, color white, the daughter of Eli Brewer and Eliza Brewer, the father dead, the mother living, resident of Montgomery County. Register of Deeds: R.H. Morris. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. I, J.D. Harris a Justice of the Peace united in matrimony Alfred Cranford and Margret Brewer the parties licensed above, on the 31 day of December, 1881, at ? Clavy CRANFORD to Roxanna BALLARD

State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. To any regular Minister of the Gospel or Justice of the Peace of  said County: You or any of you are hereby authorized and licenses to to celebrate and solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between Clavy Cranford, son of Elias Cranford and Nelly Cranford And Roxanna Ballard, daughter of James B. Ballard and Luolda (sp) Ballard of said County and join them together as man and wife. Witness P.H. Morris Register of Deeds for said County at Office in Troy the 10th day of January A.D. 1872. P.H. Harris C. CRANFORD to Eliza SANDERS

State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. TO ANY Regular Minister of the Gospel having the cure of souls, of whatever Denomination; Or to any Justice of the Peace of said County: You, or any of you, are hereby authorized and empowered To celebrate and solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between Harris C. Cranford, son of Ambros Cranford and Carolina Cranford AND Eliza Saunders, daughter of Henry Saunders, Sr. and Mary Saunders. And join them together as Man and Wife. Witness, P.H. Morris Clerk of our Court of Pleas and Commissioners Office in Troy, the 23 day of September 1868 and in the 98th year of our Independence. P.H. Morris, Clerk. State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. THIS CERTIFIES THAT Harris C. Cranford son of Ambrose  Cranford and Carolina Cranford and Eliza Saunders daughter of  Henry Saunders, Sr. and Mary Saunders were, by me, united in the Bonds of Matrimony, on the 27 day of September 1868. (I am missing the person’s name that married this couple.)

State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. Feb. 1, 1889. W.M. having applied to me for a LICENSE for the marriage of  W.M. Cranford of Randolph Co., age 22 years, color white, the son of Pink Cranford and Melvina Cranford, the father now dead, the mother dead resident of ------, AND Crissie Hopkins of Randolph Co., age 18 years, color white, daughter of Stokes Hopkins and Elizabeth Hopkins, the father living, the mother dead, resident of Randolph Co. Register of Deeds: A.R. Morris. W.M. Cranford being duly sworn says: That the parties applying for License are of lawful age and as far as he is informed and believes there is no lawful cause of impediment forbidding said marriage. Signature: W.M. Cranford Witness: A.R. Morris State of North Carolina. I, W.G. Davis, J.P. united in Matrimony W.M. Cranford and Chrisse Hopkins the parties licensed above, on the Feb. 1, 1889 at W.G. Davis House in Ophir Township, in said County according to law. Witnesses Present At Marriage: W.G. State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. Office Register of Deeds, September 24th, 1875. To any Ordained Minister of any Religious Denomination, Or any Justice of the Peace of said County: John F. Hamilton having applied to me for a LICENSE for the marriage of John F. Hamilton of Montgomery Co., aged 21 years, color white, the son of Joseph Hamilton and Liddia Hamilton, the father now dead, the mother dead, resident of Montgomery, And Pallia Cranford of Montgomery aged 18 years, color white, daughter of Morrison Cranford and Adaline Cranford, the father dead , the mother living, resident of Montgomery Co. And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, you are hereby authorized, at any time within one year from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within the said County. You are required within two months after you shall have celebrated such marriage to return this License to me, at my office, with your signature subscribed to the certificate under this License, and with the blanks therein filled according to the facts, under penalty of forfeiting two hundred dollars to the use of any person who shall sue for the same. Calvin MANERS to Elizabeth CRANFORD

To any Ordain Minister of any Religious Denomination, Or any Justice of the Peace for said County: Calvin Maners having applied to me for a License for the Marriage of Calvin Maners of Montgomery County, aged 21 years, color white, the son of Joshua Maners and Lecy Maners, the father now living, the mother dead, resident of Montgomery, And Elizabeth Cranford of Montgomery, aged 18 years, color white, daughter of Ransom Cranford and Margaret Cranford, the father living, the mother dead, resident of Randolph County. And there being no legal impediment to such Marriage known to me, you are authorized, at any time within one year from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed Marriage at any place within the said County. Thomas L. MULLINIX to Mary Jane CRANFORD

State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. To any regular Minister of the Gospel having the cure of souls, of whatever Denomination; or to any Justice of the Peace of said County: You, or any of you, are hereby authorized and empowered To Celebrate and solemnize the rites of Matrimony between Thomas L. Mullinix, son of Jessie Mullinix and Caroline Mullinix AND Mary Jane Cranford, daughter of John Cranford and Mary Cranford AND JOIN THEM TOGETHER AS MAN AND WIFE. Witness, C.C. Wade Clerk of our said Court of Pleas and Quarter  Sessions, at Office in Troy, the 4th day of April 1868 and in the 92  year of our Independence. C.C. Wade, Clerk. State of North Carolina, Montgomery County. THIS CERTIFIES THAT Thos. L. Mullinix son of Jessie Mullinix and Caroline Mullinix and Mary Jane Cranford, daughter of John Cranford and Mary Cranford were, by me, united in the Bonds of Matrimony, on the 5th day of April A.D. 1868, conformably to the Ordinance of God and the Laws of State. Russell and Sarah Russell, the father now living, the mother living, resident of Montgomer, And Rebecca Cranford of Montgomery aged 30 years, color, white, daughter of Kindrick Cranford and Charity Cranford the father living, the mother living, resident of Montgomery. And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, you are hereby authorized, at any time within one year from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within the said County. You are required within two months after you shall have celebrated such marriage to return this License to me, at my office, with your signature, subscribed to the certificate under this License, and with the blanks therein filled according to the facts, under penalty of forfeiting two huadred dollars to the use of any person who shall sue for the same. Or any Justice of the Peace of said County: Henry Sanders having applied to me for a LICENSE for the Marriage of Wm. R. Sanders of Montgomery, aged 19, color white, the son of Elisha Sanders and Lydia J. Sanders, the father now dead, the mother living, resident of Montgomery, And Lunday Cranford, of Montgomery, aged 16 years, color white, daughter of Ambros Cranford and Ann Cranford, the father dead, the mother living, resident of Montgomery Co. And with written consent of Ann Cranford, the Mother of the said Lunday Cranford to the proposed marriage having been filed with me. And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, your are hereby authorized, at any time within one year from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within the said County. You are required within two months after you shall have celebrated such marriage to return this License to me, at my office, with your signature subscribed to the certificate under this License, and with the blanks therein filled according to the facts, under penalty of forfeiting two hundred dollars to the use of any person who shall sue for the same. HALL (this is what appears to be there, I might be wrong on this) and Leah HALL (not sure on Leah, either) the father now living, the mother living, resident of Montgomery County. AND Nancy J. CRANFORD of Montgomery aged 20 years, color white, daughter of Morrison CRANFORD and Adaline CRANFORD the father dead, the mother living, resident of Montgomery County. P.H.
