To the worshipful the Justices of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for Montgomery County. The petition of Wincey Green widow of John Green, Dec'd, late of Montgomery County. Humbly complaining sheweth unto your worships that her late husband John Green lately died intestate and that your petitioner is entitled by act of assembly to one year's provisions out of the estate of her late husband for the support of herself and family. Your petitioner therefore prays your worships to appoint proper and suitable commissioners to allot and assign to her one year's support out of the said estate for herself and family or in the event of there being a deficiency on hand that you will require the administrator to pay such sum or sums of money as the commissioners shall recommend. And she prays for such other and further relief etc. and as in duty bound your petitioner will ever pray. Gainis Sol for Petitioner

We the undersigned a committee appointed at April Session 1846 to lay off a year's provisions for Mrs. Wincy Green widow of John Green, dec'd, have agreed that that she have set apart out of the estate of her dec'd husband

35 barrels corn and the shucks that grows on it

30 bushels wheat, 1500 bundles fodder, 500 bundles oats, 1200 # pork, 75 # lard, 100 # clean cotton, 150 sugar, 75 coffee, 10 gallons molasses, 2 sacks salt, 50 #iron, 1 #each spices ginger and pepper, 100 #soap, 300 # beef, and 3 gallons spirits. Returned to July court.

I Sarah Flin of Montgomery County and State of North carolina hath this day relinquished all the right and title that I have to the following negroes, Sam about 13 years of age, Vina age about 11 years, Alex'r about 9 years old, Aaron about 8 years old, Jim about 6 years old, Tamer about 3 years, which I give to the heirs of John Green so that the legatees might have an equal division which negroes I give to them clear of all claim or claims whatever for ever for them to have to their proper use for ever, given under my hand and seal this the 19th February 1848. Green admr. of John Green dec'd, find due from the administrator to the estate of John Green, dec'd, the sum of seven hundred and thirty two dollars and seven and half cts which the preceeding will fully show by a reference ot the credits and disbursements, all of which is respectfully submitted to your worships. To the worshipful the court of pleas & quarter sessions in and for the county afs'd. The petition of Wincy Green widow of John Green, dec'd, Henry Haywood and wife Sarah, William R . Green, James Green, John Green, David Green, Miles Haywood and wife Priscilla, Dicey Green, Tabitha Green, Joel Green and Lively Green, the last named four infants under the age of twenty one years, who petition by their next friend William R. Green, show unto your worships that as next of kin of the late John Green and as dower of Sarah Flinn, they are tenants in common and joint owners of twelve negroes named Sam, Viney, Elick, Raven, Jim, Tamer, Fanny, Wiley, Jot, Jerry, Hannah and an infant, the child of Fanny, not yet named. They pray your worships to appoint three freeholders, unconnected with your petitioners by affinity or consanguinity to divide said negroes among your petitioners as nearly co-equally as possible and allot to each their share sin severalty and make report to the next court and as in duty bound your petitioners will ever pray etc. Gaines Sol for Petitioners.

Pursuant to an order of Court of Montgomery obtained at January Term 1848, we the committee after being duly sworn proceeded to value the negroes belonging to the estate of John Green, dec'd, the valuation of said negroes was three thousand eight hundred and sixty one dollars and thirty three and a third cents divided in eleven shares and each share was three hundred and fifty one dollars and three cents and each legatee draws the negroes as follows:
