State of North Carolina, Stanly County. TO ANY Regular Minister of the  Gospel having the care of souls of whatever Denomination; Or to any Justice of the Peace of said County:

You, and any of you, are hereby authorized and empowered to celebrate and solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between D.D. Cranford age 21, son of Loveless Cranford and Betsey Cranford And Judith Morris age 19, daughter of William Morris and Mary Morris And join them together as Man and Wife.  Witness, I. W. Snuggs, Register of Deeds and for the County of Stanly, at Office in Albemarle, the 28th day of July, 1873, and in the 97 year of our Independence.  Register of Deeds: I. W. Snuggs.  State of North Carolina, Stanly County.  This certifies, That D.D. Cranford, age 21, son of Loveless Cranford and Elizabeth Cranford; and Judith Morris aged 19 years, daughter of W. Fraley, having applied to me for LICENSE for the Marriage of Julius Cranford of Davidson County, aged 21 years, color white, the son of Daw Cranford and Elizabeth Cranford, the father now dead, the mother living, resident of Davidson County And Eliza Miller, of Rowan County, aged 23 years, color white, daughter of (unreadable) Miller and Betsey Miller, the father dead, the mother living, resident of Rowan Co. Cranford The father now living, the mother living, resident of Albemarle, NC And Cornelia A. Lowder of Albemarle, N.C., age 39 years, color white; the daughter of T.P. Lowder and Ada L. Lowder, the father now living, the mother now living, resident of Albemarle, NC. And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, you are hereby authorized, at any time within sixty days from the date hereof, to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within said County. You are required, within sixty days after you shall have celebrated such marriage, to return this License to me, at my office, with your signature subscribed to the Certificate under this License, and with the blanks therein filled according to the facts, under penalty of forfeiting $200.00 to the use of any person who shall sue the same.  Zim F.
