Old Marks Cemetery/
Crooks-Dixon-Pritchett Cemetery
Henderson County, Kentucky

These photos were taken several years ago. The little girl in the photo below, Robin's niece, is now twenty-three years old and married. Robin says her family often took walks through the woods to visit the old cemetery. There are a lot of stones there that are unreadable. Robin remembers her Mother trying to make unsuccessful rubbings of the inscriptions. Most Marks researchers believe that Thomas Marks, 1756-1832, and his brother John Marks II, 1753-1821, both Revolutionary War veterans, are buried in this cemetery. Old Marks Cemetery was later re-named Crooks-Dixon-Pritchett Cemetery.

The two Dixon stones visible in this photo belong to G.W. Dixon, Jr., 24 Jan 1857-2 Nov 1916 and his wife, Melissa Ann Dixon, Sept 1857-Jan 1913.

Robin Boone Crooks, a descendant of Charles Crook, 1799-1869, and Deborah Marks, 1805-1894, contributed these photos.
