As a knight of the household, he was in the King's army on the way to Scotland, when he was murdered by the king's half-brother Sir John de Holand. He died unmarried.1

In the case of Ayala family, they struggled to succeed to a prestigious lordship after the extinction of an older line to which it was only remotely related.5 He died on 15 October 1385 at Vitoria or Quejana, Spain, at age 80 years. He died as a Dominican friar at Vitoria.1 Fernán Peréz de Ayala was buried in Quejana, Spain.1

English archers decimate the French, and John II is captured. On 17 September 1356 at the Battle of Poitiers, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France.9 He fought at the battle of Sluys and with distinction at Poitiers, where he was severely wounded.8 He fought on the side of the English, asking the Prince of Wales that he lead the fight, and coming through heroically on 17 September 1356 at the Battle of Poitiers, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France. "Sir, I have ever served most loyally my lord your father, and yourself, and shall continue so to do, as long as I have life. Dear sir, I must now acquaint you, that formerly I made a vow, if ever I should be engaged in any battle where the king your father or any of his sons were, that I would be the foremost in the attack, and the best combatant on his side, or die in the attempt. I beg therefore most earnestly, as a reward for any services I may have done, that you would grant me permission honourably to quit you, that I may post myself in such wise to accomplish my vow."10 He died in 1369 at (sic) at age 55 years.8 He was one of the most celebrated warriors of the martial reign of King Edward III.2 He died on 1 April 1386 at Heleigh, Staffordshire, England, at age 73 years, 2 months and 24 days.6,4

He was the son of Ralph, 2nd Lord Neville of Raby and Alice de Audley.1 Sir William de Nevill was the Lollard leader, a close friend and supporter of John Wiclif in the movement for Church reform.1 He was Admiral of the North, commanding the Royal Navy from the Thames northwards in 1372.1 Admiral of the North in 1372.1 He sailed in force to Brittany to relieve his brother Lord Nevill, John, who was beleaguered in Brest Castle in 1372.1 He was Joint Commissioner to treat for peace with France and Scotland in 1383.1 He sided with the Lords Appelant against the Court Party (and his own older brother Alexander) in 1388.1 He was a witness where Alexander de Nevill outlawed, for being a leading statesman of the Court Party, by the King's enemies in the "Merciless Parliament" in 1387/88.1 Sir William de Nevill died after December 1388.1
