There are lots of uncertainties about these lines, since many records have not survived. Source materials for most things in the medieval Balkans are ususally not from contemporary writers, and the few contemporary sources existing are usually from Byzantine writers, not writers from the various states themselves. The tables I'm about to present are based on Europaeische Stammtafeln, but modified by some recent scholarship by John V. A. St. Thomas de Cantilupe, Bishop of Hereford was well connected, an academic with anti-royalist views, litigious, a greedy pluralist, a misogonist and an anti-semite, in other words a fairly typical product of the socially superior and intellectually advance clergy of the thirteenth century.2 He was the nephew of Walter, Bishop of Worcester.2 He was so described: a red-faced, ginger-haired man, with a large nose.3 Also called Thomas Cantelupe.4 He was born circa 1218.2 He was the son of William de Cantilupe and Millicent de Gournay.1 Bishop of Hereford at England between 1275 and 1282.2 St. Thomas de Cantilupe, Bishop of Hereford died on 25 August 1282 at Orvieto, Italy. He died on his way to Rome to appeal against his excommunication by the inflexible Archbishop Pecham for defending his rights as a suffragen.5 . The bones of Saint Thomas Cantilupe, bishop of Hereford, no longer lie within his shrine, which is still at the cathedral.6 He was canonized in 1305/6 at 34 Edward I, England.1 He was the only Englishman canonized in the fourteenth century in 1320.2
