Pedro Suarez, alguacil mayor1
b. circa 1218?, d. before 1255
"Salazar y Castro placed Pedro Suarez, alguacil mayor of Toledo in 1247 and dead by 1255 above Gómez Pérez. This is supported by the repeated use of the name "Pedro Suarez" among descendants, and also by the fact that Sancha de Ayala’s English descendants quartered or, a castle azure, which are precisely the arms attributed by Salazar y Castro to this first Pedro Suarez (though on what evidence is unknown)."2 Pedro Suarez, alguacil mayor was born circa 1218?. Addition: Joan, mother of Maud de la Mare, wife of Peter de Montfort," newsgroup message 2004-11-08 11:19:32 PST, Upon review of a variety of records, I've determined that Maud de la Mare, wife of Sir Peter de Montfort, was the daughter of Sir Henry de la Mare (died 1257), of Ashtead, Surrey, a prominent royal justice, by his 2nd wife, Joan, daughter of Sir John de Neville of Essex. Conclusive proof of Maud's parentage is found in Calendar of Close Rolls, 1264-1265 (1937), pg. 55, which reads as follows:
- [S1635] Douglas Richardson, mother of Maud de la Mare, wife of Peter de Montfort Re: C.P.
