     Gilbert de Sanford was born circa 1200.² He married Lora la Zouche, daughter of Roger la Zouche, Sheriff of Devonshire and Margaret (?), before 1232.¹ Gilbert de Sanford held Fingrith by serjeantry of guarding the Queen's gold in 1235.¹ He held Woolston in 1236. Woolston was one of five manors appurtenant to this serjeanty, the others being Margaretting and Fingrith (in Blackmore) in Essex, and Great Hormead and Nuthampstead (in Barkway) in Hertforshire.³ Officiated as the Queen's Chamberlain at the Coronation of Queen Eleanor, and received as his right her bed and the basins and other things which appertain to the chamberlainship in 1236.¹ He officated as Coronation Chamberlain at the coronation of Queen Eleanore in 1236.¹ He held the manor of Hormead by serjeantry of the chamberlainship of the Queen in 1248.⁴ He died before April 1249.⁵

She was the daughter of Sancho I "O Funador", rei de Portugal and Maria Aires de Fornelos.^1,2 Teresa Sanches de Borgonha married Afonso Telo de Meneses, son of Tel Peres de Meneses, after 1198; His 2nd. (With issue - the Albuquerque family, and the main Meneses lines.).^3,2 Teresa Sanches de Borgonha died in 1250.¹

     Also called Duncan, 1st Earl of Carrick.³ Duncan mac Gilbert, 1st Earl of Carrick was born in 1155?. He was the son of Gilbert of Galloway.² Duncan mac Gilbert, 1st Earl of Carrick was forced, on losing against his rebellious cousin Roland, to renunciate all claims to the southern portion of Galloway on 5 July 1185.⁴ He married Aveline fitz Alan, daughter of 2nd High Steward of Scotland Alan fitz Walter and Eve of Crawford, in 1200.^1,4 Duncan mac Gilbert, 1st Earl of Carrick was created Earl of Carrick by Alexander II following further confirmation of his resignation of all claim to the Lordship of Galloway between 1225 and 1230.⁴ 1st Earl of Carrick before 1250.² He died in 1250 at age 95 years.² He died on 13 June 1250 at age 95 years.¹

     Alice de Widworthy was born circa 1225.      Henry de Tibetot was born circa 1187. (1216/17) In the 1st Henry III, had a grant in conjunction with Thomas Botterel, being in arms for the king, of the possessions lying in the counties of York and Lincoln, of Adam Painel, who fought on the other side.¹ He died in 1249/50. He died in the 24th Henry III.¹

     William Longespée was born circa 1212 at Wiltshire, England.³ He was the son of William Longespée, 3rd Earl of Salisbury and Ela of Salisbury. William Longespée married Idonia de Camville, daughter of Richard III de Camville and Eustacia Bassett, in June 1226.^4,5 William Longespée came of age in 1233.⁶ He died on 7 February 1250 at Al-Mansura, On the Nile, Egypt. Slain in battle with the Saracens.⁷

Robert of Artois led a surprise attack on the Egyptian camp two miles (three kilometres) from al-Mansurah and, rejecting the advice of more experienced campaigners, impetuously moved ahead, only to be trapped within the city. Many knights lost their lives.¹¹ He was ancestor of the House of Artois (to 1472).⁷
