     Captain Lucas Andrieszen was born circa 1630 at New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.3 He was the son of Andries Luycaszen and Jannetje Sebyns.2 Captain Lucas Andrieszen was a sea captain, like his father-in-law, and like his father-in-law involved in considerable litigation as shown in the Court Minutes of New York City.2 He married Aefje Laurens Van der Wel, daughter of Schipper Laurens Cornelis van der Wel and N. N. van der Wel, Mrs., on 20 November 1655 at the Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.4,2 Captain Lucas Andrieszen was recorded by Joannes Dyckman as having sailed with 1,500 beavers on 2 July 1657.5 He was witnessed the baptism of Claes, son of Tierk Claessen de With and Barber Andreissen. He was described as "Luycas Andriessen, residing at the Manathans." (Other witnesses included Jan Claessen, Geertruy Andriessen, from Fort Orange and Tryntje Tyssen)
on 17 February 1664 at the Reformed Dutch Church, Kingston, New York.6 He was was noted as a member on 17 January 1666 at the Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.7 He witnessed the baptism of Lysbeth Coninck on 10 March 1675 at the Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York; 1675, 10 Mar; Jan Stephenszen, Lysbeth Lucas; Lysbeth; Lucas Andrieszen, Aefje Laurens (maternal grandparents).8 Captain Lucas Andrieszen was was granted the Small Burgher Right: "Luycas Andriezen has asked for and received the Small Burgher Right, has taken the oath as Burgher, and has paid the fees to the Treasurer."      Also called Van Wel.1 Schipper Laurens Cornelis van der Wel was born circa 1605 at the Netherlands. He married N. N. van der Wel, Mrs. before 1632 at Amsterdam, Netherlands; His 1st. Schipper Laurens Cornelis van der Wel was a noted sea captain of the West India Company, and involved in numerous law suits as revealed in old court records, before 1641.2 Schipper, West India Company in 1641.
