     Bernard "Plantapilosa", comte d' Auvergne rose to great authority during the reign of Charles the Bald.³ Count of Autun, Rodez and Auvergne.⁴ He added to his honores the counties of Autun, the Lyonnais, Gevaudun, the Toulousain, and others in the Midi.³ He was a scion of the eminent Wilhelmine family.⁵ The identity of the 'son of the tyrant' with Bernard 'Plantapilosa', count of Auvergne and father of William the Pious, has been much debated. It remains conjectural but now represents the consensus among historians and genealogists.¹ Also called Count Bernard II of Toulouse.⁶ Also called comte d' Autun Bernard II Plantevelue d' Auvergne.      Basileios I Makedonios, basileus Rhomaiôn was related to Leo VI Philosophos, basileus Rhomaiôn; the putative son of Basil I the Macedonian, and his second wife, Eudocia Ingerina.² Some say he was from T'il village in Taron.³ Basileios I Makedonios, basileus Rhomaiôn was of a peasant family that had settled in Macedonia, perhaps of Armenian origin.⁴ The genealogy of Basil the Macedonian (if it be not the spurious offspring of pride and flattery) exhibits a genuine picture of the revolution of the most illustrious families. The Arsacides, the rivals of Rome, possessed the sceptre of the East near four hundred years: a younger branch of these Parthian kings continued to reign in Armenia; and their royal descendants survived the partition and servitude of that ancient monarchy. Two of these, Artabanus and Chlienes, escaped or retired to the court of Leo the First: his bounty seated them in a safe and hospitable exile, in the province of Macedonia: Adrianople was their final settlement. During several generations they maintained the dignity of their birth; and their Roman patriotism rejected the tempting offers of the Persian and Arabian powers, who recalled them to their native country. But their splendor was insensibly clouded by time and poverty; and the father of Basil was reduced to a small farm, which he cultivated with his own hands: yet he scorned to disgrace the blood of the Arsacides by a plebeian alliance: his wife, a widow of Adrianople, was pleased to count among her ancestors the great Constantine; and their royal infant was connected by some dark affinity of lineage or country with the Macedonian Alexander. He was killed in the naval battle with the Neretvanians, Dalmatian pirates. He was the first Doge to die in battle for the Republic.⁴

The Laigin attacked Cerball's encampment and slew Gaíthíne's son and others, and were then thrown back in flight with their king i.e. Muiredach son of Bran, and some of them were slaughtered. / ... Cerball m. Dungaile co l-lin ad-cotada dia n-indrudh co Dun mh-Bolcc. Fo-rropartar Laigin dunadh Cerbaill, & m. Gaithine & alios occiderunt & reuersi sunt in fugam cum rege suo, .i. Muiredhach m.      The Bagratuni dynasty divided in the 9th century into two branches,one which reigned in Armenia, starting with Ashot I in 885, and the other of which reigned in Iberia, starting with Adarnese II in 888. The Armenian branch ceded Armenia to the Byzantine Empire in 1045, while Iberia united with Abkhazeti (Abkhazia) and became known as Georgia, taking its name from King Giorgi I (1014-1027).⁶ Ašot I "the Great", King of Armenia was son of Smbat Ablabas Bagratuni.¹ He was viewed as greater than all of his predecessors, since after holding the sparapetut'iwn, he was prince of princes and then received crowns from two kings, Ishmaelite and Byzantine.⁷ He embellished the churches of Armenia with great ornaments and brightness [during] thirty-two years as prince of princes, and five years as king of Armenia.⁸ He was a God-fearing, benevolent man, an adorner of the Church, and a lover of the services of God.⁷ He was born circa 815. He was the son of Smbat VIII Ablabas, sparapet of Armenia and Hripsime (?).^4,5 Ašot I "the Great", King of Armenia was the successor of Smbat VIII Ablabas, sparapet of Armenia; Marzpan of Armenia.⁹ Ašot I "the Great", King of Armenia married Kotramidé (?).⁴ Prince of Princes at Armenia, Transcaucasia, between 853 and 884.¹⁰ Ašot I "the Great", King of Armenia was recognized by the court at Baghdad as prince of princes, a measure that did not fail to provoke a violent reaction on the part of the semiautonomous Arab emirates that had been established in the very heart of Armenia in 861.¹¹ He was appointed "ishkhan of ishkhans" (prince of princes) by the Caliph in 862.^1,12 He settled, toward the end of the 9th century, at Artanuji at Tao (southwestern Georgia), Transcaucasia.¹³ He was sent a crown by the Caliph and recognized as shahnshah, king of kings of the Armenians, and Basil I, emperor of Byzantians, made haste to do the same in 885.¹¹ He elected to be king of Armenia and recognized as such by both the caliph and the Byzantine emperor (Basil I, himself of probably Armenian origin) in 885.¹ He profited from the weakness of the Byzantine emperors and the Arab caliphs and set himself up as hereditary prince in Iberia.¹³ 1st King of Armenia at the Caliphate, Transcaucasia, between 885 and 890.^14,1,15,7 He died in 890. "Amir Xalil [Halid ibn Yazid ibn Mazyad ash-Shaibani] came and killed Ashot, and was himself slain in Jawaxet'." Kirakos on the other hand says "he passed to Christ, dying peacefully, possessing the correct doctrine."^16,8 He was the predecessor of Smbat I "the Martyr", King of Armenia; King of Armenia.¹⁷

     Hostivitas Premyslovci was born circa 825. He died in 890.¹
