Hugo, Graf von Tours was an ambassador of King Charles the Fat, along with Bishop Heito von Basel and Aito von Friaul, to Byzantium in 811.1 He became closely associated with the Carolingian court when his daughter Irmingard married Lothar, son of Louis the Pious, in 821.1 He became associated with the Welf House when his daughter Adelaide married Konrad von Altdorf and became the mother of Count Welf I in 825.1 He died on 20 October 837.7

He married Ringardis de Madrie before 823.2 Pippin I, roi des Aquitains was a witness where Hludowic I Pius, empereur auguste his sons, Lothar, Pepin and Louis the German joined forces and (with the support of the Pope) defeated him in 833 at the Battle of Colmar. Pippin I, roi des Aquitains died on 13 December 838 at Poitiers, Vienne, France.3 He was the predecessor of Pippin II, roi des Aquitains; King of Aquitaine.5 Pippin I, roi des Aquitains was a witness where Judith, Fränkische Königin incited Pepin and Louis the German against Lothar in 843.

Sicard was assassinated, leading to discord and eventually a bloody civil war between Lombard Salerno (now ruled by Sicard's brother Sikenolf) and Lombard Benevento (ruled by the declared successor of Sicard, Radelchis). Both sides hire Arab mercenaries (Saracens) to fight in their civil war.1,2

King of Wessex and of the English at England between 825 and 4 February 839.11 He appeared in a charter which read "Egbert, king, to the bishopric of Winchester; grant of 30 hides (mansae) at Calbourne, Isle of Wight" in 826.12 He was recognised as the first King of all England upon reducing the Heptarchy to his dominion in 828.7 He was accepted by the Northumbrians as Overlord, he became High King of England in 829. Bretwalda of the Saxons between 829 and 839. He appeared in a charter which read "Egbert, king of Wessex, to Beornwyn, Ælfflæd and Walenburch, sisters; confirmation of 10 hides (manentes) at Woolland, Dorset, the old charters having been lost, and of the new division between the sisters following Beornwyn's inheritance of land at Dartington, Devon" on 26 December 833 at Dorchester, Dorset.13 He appeared in a charter which read "Egbert, king of the West Saxons, to Ciaba, a clericus living in St Peter's minster (St Augustine's), Canterbury; grant, for life, of one sulung (aratrum) on Scirdun, formerly belonging to the royal vill at Canterbury, in return for 100 mancuses, with reversion to St Augustine's" in 836.14 He died after 19 November 838.2 He died on 4 February 839 at Wessex, England, at age 64 years.7 Ecgberht "the Great", King of the English was buried in Winchester, England.7

     Gerard I, comte d' Auvergne was a relative of Ebroin, Bishop of Poitiers.2 He was possibly, per Helmut Schwager, the son of Theoderich of Laon; brother of Count William I of Auvergne (+840/50).2 He was the friend and first counselor of King Pippin I of Aquitaine.2 He was born circa 793. He married Mathilda des Francs, daughter of Hludowic I Pius, empereur auguste and Ermengardis d' Hesbaye.2 Gerard I, comte d' Auvergne married Hildegarde des Francs, daughter of Hludowic I Pius, empereur auguste and Ermengardis d' Hesbaye, circa 820; His 2nd (sister of 1st).3 Gerard I, comte d' Auvergne was given the county of Auvergne by Louis the Pious in 838.4 Count of Auvergne between 838 and 841.3,4 He was an Aquitaine magistrate before 841. He was born in 759 at Oviedo, Asturias, Spain.2,3 He was the son of Fruela Iº Alfonsez , rey de Asturias.2 King of Asturias and Galicia at Spain between 791 and 842.2,4,5,3 Annales Xantenses 798: "Venit etiam legatus Hadifonsi regis Galaciae et Austriae nomine Froia, papilionem mirae pulchritudinis deferens imperatori."6 Alfonso II Fruelez "el Casto", rey de Asturias attempted to enter into relations with Charlemagne, and although he seems to have failed to get Carolingian support, there are some traces of Frankish influence in Asturias after 800.3 He encouraged the settlement of the headwaters of the Ebro River (Miranda de Ebro, Mena Valley) between 800 and 835.4 He built a chapel to guard Christian relics rescued from the Moors in 802 at Oviedo, Asturias, Spain.7 He built his new capital in the city of Oviedo, on a strategic site in the mountains and set about giving the Asturian kingdom a national identity in 810 at Asturias, Spain.3,7 He built a church over the supposed tomb of the apostle St. James, martyred at Jerusalem about AD 44 (his bones had been taken to Spain, where, according to legend, he had formerly evangelized) in 813 at Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain.8,3 He was suffered attacks by 'Abd al-Rahmân II of Córdoba between 822 and 842.9 He was faced frequent and determined attacks by the armies of the emirate of Córdoba and though often defeated, his doggedness saved Asturias from extinction between 822 and 842.3 He was a witness where 'Abd al-Rahmân II al-Mutawassit ibn al-Hakam, amir al-Qurtubi able to mount attacks against Alfonso II of Asturias, and against the Franks as well, between 822 and 842.9 Alfonso II Fruelez "el Casto", rey de Asturias died in 842 at Oviedo, Asturias, Spain, at age 83 years.3

      Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn was the son-in-law of the emperor Nicephorus I.2 He was a witness where Bardanes Turcus a general under whom three officers all served: the future emperors Leo V, Michael I and the anti–emperor Thomas the Slav in 802.3 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn was the successor of Stauracius, basileus; Emperor.1 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn was proclaimed emperor by a coup d'etat, despite the claims of Nicephorus' son Stauracius, who had been mortally wounded in Bulgaria in 811.2 Emperor at Byzantine Empire between 811 and 813.1,2 He was a witness where Carolus I Magnus, empereur auguste recognized by the Emperor Michael I as Emperor in the West in 812.4 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn recognized Charlemagne as basileus, and to differentiate called himself Basileus Rhomaiôn, in return for the cession to Byzantium of Venice and other cities on the Adriatic in 812.4,2 He defeated the Bulgarians in several engagements before 813.2 He was the predecessor of Leo V "the Armenian", basileus Rhomaiôn; Emperor.5 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn was a witness where Leo V "the Armenian", basileus Rhomaiôn took part in the campaign against the Bulgars, but, when Michael unwisely refused the peace terms they offered, the Asian troops under Leo deserted at the Battle of Versinikia, near Adrianople on 22 June 813.6 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn he lost the Battle of Versinikia near Adrianople, as a result of the desertion of the troops of one of his generals, Leo the Armenian on 22 June 813.2 He was a witness where Leo V "the Armenian", basileus Rhomaiôn deposed and replace Michael I as emperor in July 813.6 Michael I, basileus Rhomaiôn was deposed by his disaffected general, Leo V, and retired to a monastery on one of the Princes Islands in July 813.2 He died circa 843.2

She died on 19 April 843 at Tours, Indre-et-Loire, France, at age 48 years.3,7
