He was the son of Reginpert, Duke of Turin.2 Aribert II, Langobardenkönig was the successor of Liutpert, Langobardenkönig; King of the Langobards.3 Aribert II, Langobardenkönig tore out the eyes of Sigiprand, the son of Ansprand, when he was confirmed in his sovereignty, and afflicted in various ways all who had been connected with the latter by the tie of blood. He also kept Liutprand the younger son of Ansprand, in custody, but because he regarded him as a person of no importance and as yet a mere youth, he not only inflicted no punishment at all upon his body, but let him depart so that he could go to his father.4 27th King of the Longobards at Italy between 701 and 712.5 He made restitution by gift of the patrimony of the Cottian Alps which had formerly belonged to the jurisdiction of the Apostolic See but had been taken away by the Langobards a long time before, and he dispatched this deed of gift written in golden letters to Rome in 707.6 He was also a religious man, given to charities and a lover of justice. (Paul the Deacon seems to forgive all the mutilations Aripert inflicted.).7 He died in 712. His death marked the end of the Bavarian dynasty of rulers over the Lombards.8 He was the predecessor of Ansprand, King of the Langobardi; King of the Langobardi.3 Aribert II, Langobardenkönig witnessed the death of Liutpert, Langobardenkönig; He was killed by King Aripert.
