FatherExilarch Haninai I ben Hofnai beni David3 d. 589
MotherN. N. bat Hananiah mi-Sura3
His name, Bustenai, is from bustan, which means "orchard."4 The last Persian king [Chosroes II is the last great Persian king], inimical to the Jews, decided to extinguish the royal house of David, no one being left of that house but a young woman whose husband had been killed shortly after his marriage [the Exilarch Haninai's widow]. Then the king dreamed he was in a garden ( "bostan" ) , where he uprooted the trees and broke the branches, and, as he was lifting up his ax against a little root, an old man snatched the ax away from him and gave him a severe blow that almost killed him, saying: "Are you not satisfied with having destroyed all the beautiful trees of my garden, that you now try to destroy also the last root? Truly you deserve that your memory perish from the earth." The king thereupon promised to guard the last plant of the garden very carefully. No one but an old Jewish sage was able to interpret the dream, and he said: "The garden represents the house of David, all of whose descendants you have destroyed except a young woman with her unborn baby. The old man you saw was David, to whom you promised that his house should be renewed by this boy." The Jewish sage, who was the father of the young woman, brought her to the king, and she was assigned rooms fitted up with princely splendor, where she gave birth to a boy, who received the name "Bostanai" from the garden ("bostan") which the king had seen in his dream.5,6 Also called Bostanaï.7 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David married N. N. the Jew; His 1st.1,5 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David was born circa 590. His father was killed in 589, before he was born. He was the son of Exilarch Haninai I ben Hofnai beni David and N. N. bat Hananiah mi-Sura.3 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David was recognised the heads of the two principal academies of Babylonian Jewry, and through him by the Muslim caliphate, as final arbiters of Jewish law and the religious heads of all Jewish communities under Muslim rule circa 640.8 He was recognized as Exilarch, leader of the Jews, in return for the valuable assistance of the Babylonian Jews in Caliph Omar's campaigns against Persia in 642.7 He was the first Exilarch to be recognized by Arab rule in 642.9 He was a witness where 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, 2nd Rightly Guided Caliph of Islam recognized the Exilarch in Babylon in return for the valuable assistance of the Babylonian Jews in his campaigns against Persia in 642.7 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David as the exilarch, both in bearing and in mode of life, was considered a prince.7 He was married King Yazdigird III's daughter Dara in a marriage arranged by the establisher of Islam, Ali, Mohammed’s son-in-law, the first Imam and the establisher of Islam in 657.5,10,9 He married Izdundad, Princess of Iran, daughter of Yazdgard III, Shah of Iran, in 657; His 2nd.11,1,5,10 Exilarch at Babylonia before 670.2,12 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David died in 670.1,2 He was the predecessor of Exilarch Hisdai I Shahrijar ben Bustanai beni David; Exilarch.13,14 Exilarch Bustanai ben Haninai beni David was the predecessor of Exilarch Haninai II bar 'Adai ben Bustanai beni David; Exilarch.

Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was the youngest son of Duke Gisulf II of Friuli and Romilda.1 He was most likely of the royal Longobard dynasty the Gausen.1 He was born between 600 and 605.1 He was the son of Gisulf II ex genere Gausus, duc di Frioul and Romilda von Bayern.1,2 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was captured by the Avars, after being nearly killed by his own brother who thought he would be captured and was going to kill him to spare him the indignity circa 610. His captor, however, did not deign to strike him with the sword on account of his slender age, but rather kept him to be his servant. And returning to the camp, he took hold of the bridle of the horse and led the boy away, and exulted over so noble a booty - for he was a little fellow of elegant form with gleaming eyes and covered with long blonde hair - and when the boy grieved that he was carried away as a captive, "Pondering mighty thoughts within his diminutive bosom", he took out of the scabbard a sword, such as he was able to carry at that age, and struck the Avar who was leading him, with what little strength he could, on the top of the head. Straightway the blow passed through to the skull and the enemy was thrown from his horse. And the boy Grimoald turned his own horse around and took flight, greatly rejoicing, and at last joined his brothers and gave them incalculable joy by his escape and by announcing, moreover, the destruction of his enemy.2 He was the successor of Radoald ex genere Gausus, Duke of Benevento; Duke of Benevento.3 Duke of Benevento at Italy between 647 and 662.1 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum married Ita of the Lombards, daughter of Aribert I, Langobardenkönig; His 1st.4 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was the successor of Godebert, Langobardenkönig; 21st King (at Ticinum) of the Longobards.5,6 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was the successor of Perctarit, Langobardenkönig; 20th King (at the city of Mediolanum) of the Longobards.5,7,6 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was the only southern duke to aim at the throne of Pavia.7 He succeeded his father-in-law to the Longobard throne in 662.5 He married into the Bavarian Dynasty of Longobard rulers.7 He married Theodorata of the Bavarii, daughter of Aribert I, Langobardenkönig, in 662; His 2nd.1 22nd King of the Longobards at Italy between 662 and 671.5,7,1 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum was the predecessor of Romoald I ex genere Gausus, Duke of Benevento; Duke of Benevento.1,8 Styled Dominus Grimoaldus excellentissimus Rex gentis Langobardorum.9 Grimoald ex genere Gausus, Rex gentis Langobardorum died in 671.1 He was the predecessor of Garibald ex genere Gausus, Prince of the Langobards; Crown Prince of the Longobards. When the first assassin's sword struck Uthman, he was reciting the verse, "Verily, God sufficeth thee; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing." His death marked the beginning of open religious and political conflicts within the Islamic community.9 'A'isha, the widow of the Prophet Muhammed, rebelled against the Caliphs.
