HOWEVER it should be noted that this Lydia was the 2nd daughter named Lydia after her mother. The first, born 21 Jul 1720 died 24 Aug 1736. (A brother born right before her "after 1736" "died young" was the 2nd David, after the first son named for his father had died young too.) This naming children for parents, and naming children for parents after the first children so named had passed is a traditional New England folkway.2,3 Lydia Foster married Benjamin Morse, son of Joseph Morse and Patience Peacock, on 3 October 1754 at Middleton, Essex County, Massachusetts.6,1,7
