She was the daughter of Jean III, duc de Brabant and Marie d' Evreux.¹ Johanna de Brabant married Wenceslas, duc de Luxembourg, son of Jean "l' Aveugle", roi de Bohème and Elizabeth of Bohemia, circa 1333.¹ Johanna de Brabant succeeded to the duchy of Brabant, but was challenged by her sister's husband, Louis II of Flanders in 1355.¹ She and Wenceslas, duc de Luxembourg granted the charter of rights known as the Joyeuse Entrée which gave Brabant an exceptional position among the feudal states of the Low Countries and allowed it to play an eminent role in later centuries in the resistance against absolutist rulers on 3 January 1356.¹ Johanna de Brabant continued to rule Brabant despite the strife and after Wenceslas' death, Luxembourg.¹ She ceded her rights to Brabant and Luxembourg to her niece Margaret of Flanders, who was married to Philip II the Bold of Burgundy in 1390.¹

She was the daughter of al-Hasan al-Mujtaba ibn 'Alî, 2nd Holy Imam of Islam.¹ Umm Abdullah bint al-Hasan Banu Hâshim married 'Alî Zayn al-'Âbidîn ibn al-Husayn, 4th Holy Imam of Islam, son of al-Husayn ibn 'Alî, 3rd Holy Imam of Islam and Shahzanaan Harar Sassanid, before 677; 1st cousins.¹

     Umm Farwa bint Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr al-Madinah was born circa 685. She was the daughter of Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Madinah. Umm Farwa bint Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr al-Madinah married Muhammad al-Baqir ibn 'Alî, 5th Holy Imam of Islam, son of 'Alî Zayn al-'Âbidîn ibn al-Husayn, 4th Holy Imam of Islam and Umm Abdullah bint al-Hasan Banu Hâshim, before 702.¹

     Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Madinah was the son of Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr al-Madinah.¹

     Hamidah (?) was born circa 726. She married Ja'far al-Sadiq ibn Muhammad, 6th Holy Imam of Islam, son of Muhammad al-Baqir ibn 'Alî, 5th Holy Imam of Islam and Umm Farwa bint Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr al-Madinah, before 746.¹

     Al Khayzran (?) was born circa 747. She married Musa al-Kadhim ibn Ja'far, 7th Holy Imam of Islam, son of Ja'far al-Sadiq ibn Muhammad, 6th Holy Imam of Islam and Hamidah (?), before 765.¹

     Sakina (?) was born circa 790. She married 'Alî al-Ridah ibn Musa, 8th Holy Imam of Islam, son of Musa al-Kadhim ibn Ja'far, 7th Holy Imam of Islam and al Khayzran (?), before 811.¹

     Her name would indicate she came from Morocco. Samana al-Maghribiyya was born circa 812 at Morocco. She married Muhammad al-Taqi al-Jawad ibn 'Alî, 9th Holy Imam of Islam, son of 'Alî al-Ridah ibn Musa, 8th Holy Imam of Islam and Sakina (?), before 827.¹

     Her name noted as "Ummul Walad - Susan."^2,3 Also called Ummul Walad (?).⁴ Al-Sayyidah Jiddah (?) was born circa 828. She married 'Alî al-Naqi al-Hadi ibn Muhammad, 10th Holy Imam of Islam, son of Muhammad al-Taqi al-Jawad ibn 'Alî, 9th Holy Imam of Islam and Samana al-Maghribiyya, before 846.⁴

     Her name noted as "Ummul Walad Narjis alias Saiqal."² Also called Ummul Walad Narjis.² Al-Sayyidah Nargis Khatoon was born circa 849. She married al-Hasan al-Askari ibn 'Alî, 11th Holy Imam of Islam, son of 'Alî al-Naqi al-Hadi ibn Muhammad, 10th Holy Imam of Islam and Al-Sayyidah Jiddah (?), before 869.²

     Ismâ'îl was to be the 7th Holy Imam, but was rejected by much of the community. His line splits from the of his brother Musa, and became known as the Seveners. The Seveners, nevertheless, had the most spectacular successes of Shî'ism in the Middle Ages. Today, the Agha Khan heads a Sevener community in India.¹ Ismâ'îl ibn Ja'far, 7th Imam of Islam was born circa 744. He was the son of Ja'far al-Sadiq ibn Muhammad, 6th Holy Imam of Islam and Hamidah (?).¹
