Johanna de Brabant was born circa 1313. She was the daughter of Jean III, duc de Brabant and Marie d' Evreux.1 Johanna de Brabant married Wenceslas, duc de Luxembourg, son of Jean "l' Aveugle", roi de Bohème and Elizabeth of Bohemia, circa 1333.1 Johanna de Brabant succeeded to the duchy of Brabant, but was challenged by her sister's husband, Louis II of Flanders in 1355.1 She and Wenceslas, duc de Luxembourg granted the charter of rights known as the Joyeuse Entrée which gave Brabant an exceptional position among the feudal states of the Low Countries and allowed it to play an eminent role in later centuries in the resistance against absolutist rulers on 3 January 1356.1 Johanna de Brabant continued to rule Brabant despite the strife and after Wenceslas' death, Luxembourg.1 She ceded her rights to Brabant and Luxembourg to her niece Margaret of Flanders, who was married to Philip II the Bold of Burgundy in 1390.1

Ismâ'îl was to be the 7th Holy Imam, but was rejected by much of the community. His line splits from the of his brother Musa, and became known as the Seveners. The Seveners, nevertheless, had the most spectacular successes of Shî'ism in the Middle Ages.
