The Hollinshead Family Cemetery, Ustick Township, Whiteside County, Illinois; Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the home, with the burial afterwards at the family cemetery. "A large cortage of old friends gathered at the Hollinshead home at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon to pay their respects to the memory of their friend and neighbor, Daniel Hollinshead." Rev. Hyde of Spring Valley Presbyterian spoke consoling words and Mrs. J. K. Lorenzen sweetly sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Crossing the Bar." Those who attended the casket were C. W. Hanson, W. G. Lawrence, N. D. Pape, D. C. Waite, Cornell Smith, and Clarence Pierce, all old friends and neighbors."8 The Oak Ridge Cemetery, Albany, Whiteside County, Illinois; The funeral cortage left Missouri and motored to Ustick Township on Friday where the body rested in the Hollinshead homestead until Saturday morning. The brother, Rev. L. C. Slocumb officiated. Bearers of the casket were J. C. Slocumb, the Rev. L. V. Slocumb, W. L. Slocumb, Dr. Leith Slocumb, Lloyd Slocumb, and Earl Hollinshead. Present at the funeral, among others, was W. G. Lawrence.9

Ann Collier was of German origin, though probably born in Ontario.2,3 Also called Ann Mabee.4 Also called Ann Cryderman.5 She was born on 8 January 1804 at South Marysburgh Township, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.6,7,8,9,10,11,12 She was the daughter of Peter Collier and Elizabeth Hicks.1 Ann Collier was born circa 1805 at Trenton, Ontario.5 She married James Carmichael Stewart, son of Lord Bruce Carmichael and Phoebe Stewart, on 8 June 1823 at Newcastle, Ontario, Canada; Prior to 1831, it was illegal for Methodists and others to perform marriages in Upper Canada; but legal for Presbyterian. The marriage of James and Ann is not in the Newcastle Registers for that reason.13,7 Ann Collier had descendants named for her, namely: Anna Maria Stewart. Ann Collier was Wesleyan Methodist.14

On 12 January 1852, Ann Collier was enumerated with James Carmichael Stewart on the census at Percy Township, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, Details provided: Weslyan Methodist, age 49 next birthday.14



On 2 April 1871, Ann Collier was enumerated with James Carmichael Stewart on the census at Brock Township, Duham County, Ontario, Details provided: "Age 66, born in Ontario; religion: Church of Scotland; origin: Germany."15

He married Jane Wills, daughter of John Wills of Burlingham and Hope de La Fosse, on 2 December 1713 at the Meeting House, Northampton Township, Burlington County, New Jersey.3 Samuel Eves and Mary Shinn obtained a marriage license on 6 November 1721 at the Monthly Meeting, Newtown; Given license to marry.4 He appears to have two daughters named Anna. The first married Hugh Hollinshead, and is recorded as Anna Hollinshead at her funeral. The second Anna was the wife of Jonathan Lippencott as described by Colonial Families of the United States. The Anna's were half-sisters, and both named after the same grandmother.
