Parents:
LifeNotes: His father took him to the Creek Nation to live., but
the father soon died. Young John was raised by Daniel McDonald,
also known as Daniel McGillivray because of his close association
with the McGillivray family. John spoke English very well.
Was enrolled among the Tuskegees.
This is the John Ward
that Thomas Woodward writes about in his "Woodward's Reminiscences
of the Creek, or Muscogee Indians". Joan Case has very graciously
contributed this piece about her ancestor.

LifeNotes: She was related to Daniel McDonald (also called Daniel
McGillivray, because of his close relationship to the McGillivray
family). Daniel is mentioned in the correespondence of Alexander
McGillivray regarding trade issues.

1820 and 1822 in AL.

- John Winslett, Jr. "John Winelet", an Indian boy, was baptized John Wesley
at the Ashbury Mission, the Methodist outpost, in 1826, near Fort
Mitchell, Russell Co., AL. It is presumed that the name was John
Winslett, not Winelett. It is further presumed the child may
have been sired by John Winslett, Sr., the mother being Hattie
Ward. It is unknown whether the name he took after baptism was John
Wesley or John Wesley Winslett.

about 1822 in Russell Co., AL. Married Lewis Perryman (b.
1787, Ft. Mitchell, Russell, AL) about 1837, Tulsa, Tulsa, Indian
Territory. Their children were: Legus Chouteau Perryman (b.
1838; m. in 1864 to1st-Jennie Arparye Miller, daughter of Enfalote
Miller Harjo and Sathanakee ?, Ft. Gibson, Cherokee,
Indian Territory; m. 2nd-Lucinda Eshoya Starr in 1871, Indian
Territory; d.5/1922 in Tulsa, Tulsa, OK, buried in Perryman

(b. about 1856 in Indian Territory; m. Samuel David Voorhies
about 1877 in Jennings, Pawnee, Indian Territory; d. about 1884),
Alexander Perryman (b. about 1858 in Indian Territory; m.
1st-Celia Gooden, daughter of David Gooden and Susannah
?; m. 2nd-Sophia Sewell about 1901 in Indian Territory),
Hattie Ann Perryman (b. 3/1/1861 in Indian Territory; m.
Frank M. Mathewson about 1880 in Indian Territory; d. 2/1885
in Indian Territory, at the age of 24, and was buried in White
Church Cemetery, Tulsa, Tulsa, Indian Territory), Lewis Wesley
