Alexander Boyd.  Enlisted as a Private in Captain Samuel Ryersons Company
of the 4th Battalion, New Jersey Volunteers on 24 April 1778.  Enlisted
by Captain Samuel Hayden.  Served in Captain Joseph Lees Alert Company on
Staten Island in the summer of 1778.  Deserted to the Volunteers of
Ireland in muster of 21 October 1778.  Sources:  National Archives of

Henry Boyd, a Private in Captain Joseph Marshalls Company of the Kings
(Carolina) Rangers in muster of 24 April 1781.  Corporal in muster of 24
October 1781.  Private in muster of 25 April 1783.  Sources: National

James Boyd, Enlisted as a Private in the 4th Battalion, New Jersey
Volunteers in 1782.  Awol from Paulus Hook, New Jersey, at nine
o’clock at night on 13 August 1782.  Sources: Library of Congress, George
Washington Papers, Series 6, Volume 7, Deserter Interviews.

James Boyd, Clerk to the Inspector General of Provincial Forces on 1
February 1777.  Served as such through 20 September 1783.  Commissioned
an Ensign in the New York Volunteers at the end of 1783.  A Native of
Scotland.  A Merchant’s Clerk from North Carolina.

(Carolina) Rangers in muster of 24 April 1781.  A Prisoner of War in
muster of 24 October 1781.  Name left out in muster of 24 April 1782.

(Carolina) Rangers in muster of 24 October 1781.  Listed as a Prisoner of
War the same muster.  Name left out of he muster of 24 April 1782.

Robert Boyd, enlisted as a Private in Captain Joseph Marshalls Company of
the Kings (Carolina) Rangers on 26 March 1781.  Taken Prisoner in May,
1781.  Returned to the regiment in muster of 24 October 1781.  Name left
out in muster of 25 April 1783
