Ida Elam was a daughter of John H. and Emily (Ligon) Elam, both of whom were natives of Virginia and died near Henderson, where the father followed farming. (History of Kentucky, Vol. III, THE S. J. CLARKE PUBLISHING COMPANY, CHICAGO - LOUISVILLE, 1928)
Mrs. Lambert was educated in Miss Sue Towle's private school in Henderson; pursued her musical studies under Professor J. M. Bach, and also attended school in Nashvilie, Tennessee. She is a member of the First Presbyterian church, the public welfare board of Henderson, the Garden Club, the Women's Club and the Henderson Golf and Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert are the parents of two children, namely: Thomas Wilson, born March 11, 1908, is a graduate of McCawley's School, at Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Mary Frances, born October 22, 1911, is a student in the Henderson high school.
