I have now found the obituaries for my great Aunt BROWN and her son. I have also found that her son, Jack BROWN, was buried in Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. Does anyone know if there is a listing of his wife anywhere? I know she predeceased him (Jack died in 2007). I imagine she may have been buried in Edwards Grove too, since Jack was and since his mother was buried elsewhere. Her name was Dorma (CANTON) BROWN.

I came across copies of theHuron County Kinologist from 1991 at the Leesburg, Florida Library. In the Fall edition on page 201 was a listing for KELLER, John, 1840 in Henry and Martha Timman's article "Huron County Early Estate Index". I am fairly sure this relates to my Great Great Grandfather. I also found a listing for KELLER, John, Oct 1851 in the Huron County Kinologist, Volume 7, Number 2, Summer 1992, Page 225 in an article on guardianship. I believe this relates to my Great Grandfather. No other information was listed. Can anyone help me find these documents? I am not sure even where to write for copies.

I'm trying to help a friend find her sister that was adopted out. Childs name at the time of birth was Sharon Rose WITTER, born on 26 Dec 1948 in Columbus, Ohio at 5:35am. The mother was in a unwed mother home in Columbus, Ohio at the time of the birth and was taken to the hosp for the delivery and back to the unwed mother home to care for the baby for about a week. When the day came for new parents too pick the baby up. The mother was told to dress the baby. As the family story goes, the mother was looking out the window as the new parents walked away with baby. The B-mother was in tears. She did not want to give the baby up. She was under age at the time. Marquerite WITTER and Cleetis B. WITTER split up and the children were awarded to the court and children services. B-Mother name at the time of the birth was Marjorie Louise WITTER.B-Father was Robert "Bob" PRIDLE. Both were from Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio. A few people went to visit Marjorie at the unwed home in Columbus, Ohio. Marquerite, the mother, Shirley WITTER, the sister, and a sister, Dorothy WITTER. Also a close friend, Lulu Mills, and her boy friend. The family believes the baby was adapted out to another family member. Possible to Roy Burton WITTER and his wife, Katie (MCVETTA) WITTER, or a sisters family that may have lived in Ft. Major, Fla. Name unknown at this time. As another story was told the B-mother, Marjorie, may have seen her little girl later in life in Norwalk, Ohio when the family was on a visit to other family members. They say she looks just the father. There is a baby photo taken and given to mother, but unable to find it at this time. The photo was a small black and white photo with a little brownest tint to it. The baby had a lot of hair and dark. The baby just had a diaper on. Only the top half of the body and face was showing in the photo. The photo was taken only at a few days old.

Andrew Waber Look Up Results - The WITTERs are very familiar to me. My grandmother was adopted into the BRUGGEMAN, VALE and WITTER families. Her adopted grandmother was Mary Arena (WITTER) VALE HUSS, whom she knew very well. My WITTER family lived in Castalia and Margaretta, Erie County for the most part but there was a couple branches of the family related to Mary HUSS' father, James Barden Witter (he had a brother Elijah and an uncle David WITTER who both had large families in Ohio). There used to be huge reunion of the WITTER family every year that my grandmother remembers fondly. Would you by any chance know Cleetis' father's name?

I am researching the SMITH and GFELL families from Huron County, Ohio. I would be grateful if someone would look up in the marriage index and see when Christina (Tina) Wilhelmina GFELL married Carl Theodore SMITH. Their first child was born in 1911 in Norwalk so I am guessing it would have been in 1910 maybe. I am also looking for a marriage date for Christina's parents- Wilhelmina (or Philamina) M HIPP and Fridolin (Frederick) G. GFELL. Their first child was born in 1864 in Monroeville.

Andrew Waber Look Up Results - The GFELL and HIPP families were two of the Huron County families that came from the village of Grissheim. The church family books are online at http://www.online-ofb.de/grissheim/. This book ends at the very late, very early 1800s but you can locate some transcribed records that will allow you to trace back your ancestry to this time by going to www.familysearch.org. Andreas HIPP was a half brother to Conrad SIMON and both of them left together with their large families in 1834. I am very distantly related to the HIPPs and SIMONs and one of Conrad SIMON's sons, Andrew SIMON, married my great-great grandmother's sister.

I need historical information concerning what kind of policing Bellevue had in the late 1880s, specifically 1888. A regular paid small force? Police chief? Are names available? I know the fire chief's name and I assume it was a volunteer fire fighting team. But would someone be on duty at the fire station at all times? Any information about Dr. G. LANDERMAN? I can only find him in the 1870 census in Huron County, age 23, already a doctor! Even with alternate spellings could not find him in 1880 and of course, 1890 census records are gone. He was in the Bellevue area in 1888.

I am trying to locate where a family will was filed. My husband's great uncle died in 1917 in Honolulu, Hawaii but no will was found there. He left five siblings and a lot of stock in the Alexander & Baldwin Company of Hawaii. Since they all lived in Willard Ohio, I am wondering where I would look in Huron county to see if it was filed there. His name was Benton David MITCHELL and I've also found him in one census as Benjamin.

This was a gem. Sure helped jump start my lame SCHAFFER data. Now I have information back to the first family, Peter and Catherine BURGER SCHAEFER. Mrs. Jacob ROTH was Lucy SCHAFFER and she is my children's great grandmother. (my ex-husband's grandmother) Anyone else working with this family or the SCHONACKER (and variations) family? I remember visiting Lucy in the late 70's. She was living in the nursing home in Norwalk which in 1956 was the hospital my ex was born in. I had snippets of data here and there, now I have quite a bit more just from knowing sibling names. Much of my data unfortunately still looks like the tangled mess of Christmas lights tossed into a box when pulled off the tree last season.
