I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have some info on my John ROBERTSON, and he is my brick wall. I will tell you what I know about him, and what I'd like to know is how can I find out more about him, like where was he born (what town), what was his wifes maiden name, and where he went after he was in the tax records last. Here is what I do know- His name was John ROBERTSON, and according to the 1850 Henderson County, Ky census, he was born in 1785 in Maryland. Where, I don't know but I'd like to know. He must have married twice, because, he lists 3 sons, Hezekiah, Jessie and Charles, all born in Maryland. Charles happens to be my 3rd gr grandpa. Hezekiah may have been born 1820-21, Jessie was born in 1823, and Charles was born in 1824. Then when John is 65 years old, in the 1850 Henderson County, Ky census, he has a wife by the name of Judith. I don't have a maiden name for her. Judith is considerably younger than he. She is 41 years old and they now have 3 more sons, Eli H. born in 1833, Richard H. born in 1835, and John W. born on June 1, 1836. The last 3 sons were born in Ohio. But, I dont know where. I did find what I thought may be John in Henderson, Ky in 1840, he is listed under Jno. ROBERTSON. The sons listed match very closely with the birth years of his sons. He lists a wife age between 30-40, which would match Judith who was 31 years old in 1840 and she would have been born in 1809. So, they must have landed in Henderson via Ohio around that time. I have a document from the Henderson County court that states on Feb 24, 1851 John gives guardianship of the 3 younger sons to his 2nd oldest son, Jessie, but it doesnt say why. There are no wills with John or Judith in it and in the 1860 Henderson County census, those 3 younger sons are living with a Thomas Posey LAMBERT and his wife Eliza T. in Henderson County. Elizas maiden name was BROWN, the same as Lucy, the wife of John's son, Charles. To whom he was married in 1850. Is it possible that Eliza T. and Lucy were sisters?

Does anyone happen to have a listing for John ROBERTSON who died in 1786 in Philadelphia? His wife was Ann with children: Alexander, John, Robert, Ann, James, and Jane. There is another will for Alexander ROBERTSON about a decade earlier who could have been his father.

Is there some kind soul that would do a lookup for Susan (MURRAY) FLEMING, b. 1831, New brunswick, Canada. Her daughter, Margaret J. FLEMING, b. 1867, New Brunswick, Canada. Susan is listed in the 1880 census for Hartland, Huron Co., Ohio, age 50, widow. Margaret J., age 13, single. Susan's husband was named James, and was born in Ireland. They were married 04 Sep 1865, in New Ireland, Albert Co., N.B. ANY information on Susan & Margaret after the 1880 census would be very helpful.

Any lurkers out there researching the Frederick & Minnie GFELL family from Norwalk? I'm trying to determine if Louise GFELL, age 13 on the 1880 Norwalk, Huron, Ohio census is the same one who becomes the wife of John Jos NAHM. Louise is the daughter of Frederick GFELL, shoemaker, Germ, Germ, Germ, b. 1842; Minnie (wife), keeping house, NY, Germ, Germ, b. 1845. Then there are 10 other children, all born in Ohio, plus daughter, Louise.

The Huron County, Ohio, Cemetery Inscriptions Book has an entry for James DORY, buried next to Abraham and Mary VANSCOY with birth date about 1799 and death date 26 January 1848. This date agrees with the date of death of James DURY as reported in the Norwalk Reflector newspaper, 30 January 1849. The Scheuer abstracts of Huron County marriage records show a marriage 9 July 1832 (01, 160) between James DAY and Sally Ann CANSCOY. I believe that James DORY and James DAY are really James DURY and that his wife Sally Ann CANSCOY is really Sally Ann VANSCOY, the sister of my great(2)-grandfather George Washington VAN SCOY. Family reunion records give her date of birth as 17 May 1812. US census records give her age as 38 in 1850, 47 in 1860, 56 in 1870, and 66 in 1880. In the 1840 census James DURY is a head of household that includes a male age 10-14 and a female age 10-14. Since James DURY and Sally VANSCOY were married in 1832, these are likely not her children. Does anyone know of an earlier marriage of James DURY, born in New York or Connecticut (based on later census records of his children), died in Huron County, Ohio?

I found a new link thanks to the baptismal records for St. Peters/St. Pauls. My great great grandmother Frances FREY apparently had a twin sister named Rose/Rosina FREY who was deceased sometime prior to 1860 (b. 1852) and I am inclined to believe this twin sister died as an infant. She does not show up in the Cemeteries Index. Hoping someone might be able to help me on this.
