Researching the Nathaniel S. TOMPKINS born 24 Dec 1787 died 08 Aug 1848 - moved from Greene Co. New York to Ohio in about 1835. Married to a Sally REYNOLDS on 25 Jan 1810 died 01 May 1840 daughter of Andrew REYNOLDS. Children that I know of so far are- Philo TOMPKINS unknown birth date, death date 22 Oct 1848 age 27y 9m. Martha TOMPKINS unknown birth date, death date 4 Dec 1841 aged 8y 10m 5d. Ruth Ann TOMPKINS - No dates. Hannah TOMPKINS - ". Andrew R. TOMPKINS - ". Sally TOMPKINS - ". Alvin TOMPKINS - ". Judson TOMPKINS - ". Stephen TOMPKINS - ". Mary Ann TOMPKINS born 1820 New York. Nathaniel R. TOMPKINS born about 1824 New York. Emma Elizabeth born 9 Oct 1829 New York, died 25 Nov 1910. Nathaniel S. TOMPKINS remarried to a Betsey SAMPLE DEWITT in Ohio on 19 May 1841 and one child born to this married Enoch TOMPKINS born about 1842. Enoch TOMPKINS married on 10 Sep 1863 in Ohio to a Hannah DOTY born Oct 1840 , children to marriage are Elmer Ellsworth TOMPKINS born 26 Jul 1864 in Ohio and a Franklin TOMPKINS born in 1867 in Ohio. Some where along the line the family moved to Oregon where Elmer Tompkins first child was born and then moved to California by 1900. I have more information to add but don't want to bore anyone, so this is a good start to see if there is anyone there has any other information or connection to this family. Would love to hear from you.

I'm looking for any Information on a COOK family living in Ridgefield Twp., Huron Co. Ohio. In 1850 U.S.F.Census of Ridgefield Twp., Huron Co., Ohio there is- Israel COOK age 49 M Farmer New York; Thankfull age 55 F New York; Elmina age 46 F New York; Edward age 34 M New York; George PARIOT age 13 M England. The one I'm interested in is George PARIOT. His real name was George PARRATT, when he came over from England and later changed to PARROTT. Could not find this family in the 1860 census. Trying to find out why he was living with this family and what connection he would be to this family and what happened to this family in 1860. Any information would be helpful.

For some reason I have Peter ROTH buried at Reed Assumption Cemetery in Seneca County. For the life of me I cannot find the notes that prompted me to enter that information. (I have switched computers and not everything is organized yet.) I don't seem to have another Peter in that time frame I could have mixed with another. I also have his birth as November 1833, not 1825 as the cemetery index (St. Paul's) indicates. Nov 1833 is per 1900 census, 1880 his estimated birth year is also abt 1833. My information for Gertrude matches Section 6 Row 2- Peter 1825 - 1903 father; Gertrude 1839 - 1916 mother; George 1868 � 1927. I have Henry ROTH, b. 27 May 1862 and died 13 Mar 1946 but no burial information. I have his wife, Catherine (or Katherine) DANIEL b. 10 Apr 1879 in Reed Twp, Seneca County and she died 28 Nov 1948. As per my records I have 9 children entered for them. Peter, as far as my research indicates, was born in Homburg in the Rheinland Pfalz, not in Hamburg, area of Schleswig Holstein. Hamburg is a region of its own as it is a city/state but is surrounded by Schleswig Holstein, the very northern part of Germany. Quite a ways from the Rheinland Pflaz.

David Velten Look Up Results - I have Peter born 12 November 1835 in Hamburg, Germany. The information is unsourced and I can't vouch for it. Peter's son, Henry, married Katherine DANIEL in Assumption and is buried there - perhaps that's your Assumption connection. We agree on Henry's dates. Katherine (as spelled on the tombstone) DANIEL was born 4 Apr 1870 in Reed township and baptized 10 Apr 1870 in Assumption church (source is Assumption record book). I have Katherine's date of death as 23 Nov 1948, no source. The tombstone in Assumption cemetery only has years on it. They had nine children. I agree Homburg is more likely than Hamburg to be Henry's place of origin. I have a few other ROTHs scattered around in my database but they are from Br�cken and Steinbach and none emigrated as far as I know.
