I have been doing some church record research and I have reason to believe that the MOOSBRUGGER family is related to the FRITZEs. I am wondering if someone could do a lookup for the following names- MOOSBRUGGER, A., 800; ANDREW, 805; MARY, 800.

I have several ancestors buried in the Christian Church Cemetery in Ripley Twp. Would anyone be researching CARPENTERs?

Would anyone know anything about St. Michael's Church that was located in Thompson Township? We are trying to find the church marriage record for Joseph FREDERICK and Josephine SHOE performed by John Wittmer. There was suppose to have been a Father John Wittmer, CPPS as a priest at St. Michael's in the 1850's. We are wondering if he might have traveled to Huron County to perform marriages and if so which church that would have been.

Ken Shute Look Up Results - Here are some additional items I found on a Joseph and Josephine FREDERICK family, which, if they all relate to the same Joseph and Josephine FREDERICK as yours, might give a picture of the sequence of residences of this family. Unfortunately, it might not be too helpful in locating the marriage record you're seeking. You may already have this information, but I send it along in case you don't. 1. Early Naturalizations, Huron County, Ohio Common Pleas Court Journals, 1819-1864. Name- Joseph FREDERICK; Record Date- 11/3/1856; Country of Origin- Prussia; Vol. No.- XI; Page No.-113; Type of Record- Naturalization. 2. U.S. Census Record of 1860. Taken 10 July 1860 at Blanchard Township, Putnam County, OH. Read name, age, occupation and place of birth. Joseph FREDERICK, 35, Farmer, Baden; Josephine FREDERICK, 32, Baden; John FREDERICK, 6, OH; Joseph (Jr.) FREDERICK, 5, OH; Terese FREDERICK,1, OH. 3. U.S. Census Record of 1880. Taken at Jackson Township, Putnam County, OH. Read name (surname all FREDRICK), age, place of birth, occupation, father's birthplace, mother's birthplace. Frederick, 56, Baden, farmer, Baden, Baden; Josephine, 51, Baden, keeping house, Baden, Baden; Catharine, 19, OH, at home, Baden, Baden; Francis, 16, OH, works on farm, Baden, Baden; Clement, 15, OH, works on farm, Baden, Baden; Joseph, 12, OH, works on farm, Baden, Baden; Mary, 10, OH, works at home, Baden Baden. (Note- This Joseph, born abt. 1868, would be a different Joseph, born abt. 1855, in the 1860 census.) 4. U.S. Census of 1880. taken at Ottawa Township, Putnam County, OH. Listed in the household of Bernard and Elizabeth Gerdng, as "other," is John Frederick, age 26, born Ohio, occupation miller, Father's birthplace Baden, Mother's birthplace Baden. (Note- This John Frederick could have been the same John Frederick as seen in the 1860 census based on his estimated birth year as 1854, and place of birth of both parents as Baden.) Comments- If all the above are your Frederick family, then it suggests that they were in Huron County, Ohio in 1854 when Joseph and Josephine were married/obtained a marriage license, and resided there until at least 1856 when Joseph Frederick, Sr. obtained his naturalization papers. In the 1860 census, Joseph, Josephine and three children (John, Joseph (Jr.) and Terese) are seen living in Putnam County, Ohio. Based on their ages, John and Joseph, Jr. would have been born in Huron County, OH. Terese had been born about 1859, possibly in either Huron County, or Putnam County, OH. By 1880, Joseph and Josephine Frederick are still seen residing in Putnam County, OH, but with five children not seen before, with the three children seen in the 1860 census perhaps having died or flown the nest. The five new children are Catharine, Francis, Clement, Joseph, and Mary. This Joseph, because of his estimated birth year, would have been a different Joseph than the one seen in the 1860 census. So, Putnam County, Ohio might be a good place to investigate further, if you haven't already.

My gr-grandfather, William BUSAM, was said to have taught school at St. Michael's about 1850 - 1860. Do the Church records show anything about the school? His daughter, Mary, was said to have been born in Frank, OH. in July 1860. Would her baptism be recorded in St. Michael books?
