In 1860, Dennis WHITE is living in Monroeville, Lynn Township, Huron County, Ohio, and has Amasa WHITE, Jr., and Lydia, his wife living with him, as well as a child which could belong to Dennis by the name of Elaine WHITE. There is also a William WHITE living with Dennis whom we have not identified at this time. We have no information on the wife of Dennis WHITE. The federal census record taken June 3, 1860, for Monroeville, Lynn Township, Huron County, Ohio, shows the following- family no age sex trade born 78-72 Dennis WHITE 34 M Farmer NY; Lydia WHITE 19 F; Amasa WHITE, Jr. 21 M; Elaine 4 F; William WHITE 21 M OH; ??? 21 Laborer. Lydia would have been pregnant with George, for George was born October 10, 1860. The next door neighbor is his brother, John WHITE. We have no idea who this William WHITE, born Ohio, is. Dennis, Amasa, Jr. and John are all sons of Amasa Daniel WHITE, Sr. and Martha (Polly) TYLER. Amasa Jr. was the sixth child of Amasa and Polly and was born September 9, 1838, at Sandy Creek, Oswego County, New York. He appears in 1840 and 1850 living in Sandy Creek, with his mother and family. Amasa WHITE, Jr., married Lydia Abia TAYLOR, September 25, 1859, and in June, 1860, is found living in the household of his older brother, Dennis WHITE, in Monroeville, Lynn Township, Huron County, Ohio, where their first child, George Leon DeBourney WHITE was born. In as much the third child of Amasa Jr. and Lydia was born in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, in 1866, we felt that would be the most logical place to look. The Toledo City Directory for 1866 and 1867 indicate Amasa WHITE was a farmer and lived in the first house in East Toledo. The 1864 and 1868 directories do not list Amasa WHITE. We found the family in Toledo, Lucas County in 1870, with the name spelled WHIGHT. The film is so poor and faint; it cannot be read with certainty. If anyone is interested in this WHITE family, I would like to correspond with them.

LONG (wife Eleanor GOW), son of Will Rausch LONG (wife Ruby HEIMANN), son of William Ferdinant LONG (wife Charlotte Ann CROYLE), son of Simon LONG (wife Elizabeth REED). I have more information on these people if they connect.

I'm doing some research on Charles AUSTIN, a Revolutionary War Veteran of Huron County, Ohio who died 25 June 1851. I was wondering if anyone had any information on him or where I my find some records.

Jessie Deith Look Up Results In the Huron Cemetery book, there are two Charles AUSTINs listed. The first is on page 598, along with Caroline, George W. and Sophia C. AUSTIN. This would be in the Norwalk region. The second is a Charles G. AUSTIN, with Culius, Agnes, J., Verta M., and Willie F. AUSTIN on page 884. This cemetery would be in the Wakeman region. I don't have a copy of the book. Perhaps someone who does could look up what the inscriptions say. You might never find his gravestone but if you can find family, then that is likely the right grave yard. If none of these, are your family then look at the other AUSTINs in the HCC Cemeteries Index, on the Huron County Genealogical Society Web site.

William Whitson Look Up Results-- There are many HOHLERs listed. The listing for Felix C. HOHLER is on page 23 in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Bronson Township. He is in Section A - Row 10 - Plot 5. He died 8 Jan 1864, age 11 y 11 m 25 d. I suspect he may not be the Felix you are seeking. There is no other in the index. Albertiena HOHLER is listed on Page 790 in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Ridgefield Township. She is in Section B - Row 9 - Plot 6. Her dates show 14 Dec 1827 - 24 June 1892. It may be significant that Plot 7 is unreadable and might be where Felix is located if they were husband and wife.

I have just started working on my children's paternal line. That line takes me back to Peter ROTH in Sherman Twp, Huron County, Ohio. I looked through the list archives and saw someone posted as being from this line way back in 2001. Maybe they are still here. I am interested in all descendants of Peter ROTH. Hopefully I can find some cousins here. The line looks like this- my kids - YARMOLUK + Gregory Roth YARMOLUK b. 22 Aug 1956, Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio. +++Thomas Marvin YARMOLUK b. 1919, NY. m. Denise Pitzen Look Up Results-- While I am not related in any way (that I know of) to your ROTH family I have come across some records concerning the family you are seeking while researching my lines. The marriage of Peter ROTH and Gertrude SCHOEN is noted in the records of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Sherman Twp., Huron Co., Ohio. It occurred on 27 Nov 1860. Witnesses to the marriage were Joseph SCHOEN, Magdalena SCHOEN and Elizabeth GEIGER. This record appears on page 118 of the microfilmed records ( MS-904 roll 1) which are available at Bowling Green State University Center for Archival Collections (Bowling Green, Ohio). Here are a few baptisms culled from the records of St. Michael's Catholic Church which is located in Thompson Twp., Seneca Co., Ohio. You might try a query on the Seneca Co., Ohio list in addition to this list. Children of Peter ROTH and Gertrude SCHOEN- Maria, b. 3 Jan 1866, bapt. 7 Jan 1866. Joseph, b. 13 Apr 1869, bapt. 14 Apr 1869. John Aloys, b. 5 Apr 1878, bapt. 6 Apr 1878. Elizabeth, b. 7 Apr 1882, bapt 9 Apr 1882. There may be many more baptisms, but these are the children that appeared on the same pages as my relations. If you would like a copy of these baptismal records contact me off the list and I will send them to you, so you can double check my translation of the dates. I do my best, but I don't have any formal schooling in Latin, so there may be mistakes.
