Could someone please post the obit for Edwin J ADELMAN who died 2 MAY 2006? It was not in our Sandusky Register, and I would like to add it to my database. He was the ex-father-in-law of my deceased sister, Jane Alice STEELE ADELMAN. I went to the viewing and visited with so many of the relatives included my 2 nieces and nephew. At the time, I didn't realize that it would not be in our paper, or I could have gotten a copy.

I am wondering if anyone has Joseph and Helena (HISS) SMITHLA in their family tree? SMITHLA from my initial research is incredibly rare. I recently received from Mary Carabin the baptismal record of Andrew WILHELM, my great-great grandpa, and his godmother is listed as Helene HISS. My 3rd great grandmother's name was Catherine HISS and I have reason to believe she is related to the Conrad HISS family from Sandusky, OH. Anyways I did a lookup for "HISS" in the 1894 Beers book and sure enough a Helena HISS shows up as the wife of Joseph SMITHLA. They were married in 1853 so as of 1849 when Andrew WILHELM was baptized she was still Helena/Helene HISS. On the little bits and pieces of information given on her it states she came over with her parents in 1837. I was digging through the Castle Garden site and searched 1837 for Helena HISS. The Catherine mentioned here is my 3rd great grandmother's age so this is a perfect match! Martin HISS was a witness to his daughter's wedding- Ablena HIS Child, Youngster 10 F 1 Sep 1837 Germany Charles Carroll. Catharine HIS None 18 F 1 Sep 1837 Germany Charles Carroll. Chs. Leo HIS Child, Youngster 4 M 1 Sep 1837 Germany Charles Carroll. Martin HIS Farmer 44 M 1 Sep 1837 Germany Charles Carroll. Any of these names sound familiar to anyone?

I need some help in locating information on my ROBERTS surname. I am specifically looking for information on several ROBERTS "Brides" who I have found in the book "Huron County Marriages 1815-1854". I am hoping that there is additional information in the original marriage records, and that I can find someone who can obtain copies of those records for me. I am willing to pay a reasonable fee. Any suggestions?

I am looking for a town or maybe a street in Huron County. On my great grandfathers baptism record in the church entry in Monroeville, Ohio it lists place of birth Cooks ____ looks like Corners. I have hunted high and low for this to be a town near Monroeville. Maybe it's Cooks something else, it's a bit hard to read. Now I'm thinking maybe it could be a street. Could anyone shed light on the name? James & Sarah CURTIS came to Ohio from England in late 1869 and settled in Monroeville / Norwalk,Ohio. Their first child Walter James CURTIS(S) bapt. May 14,1871 in Zion Church in Monroeville. The baptism entry lists what appears to be Cooks Corners, Ohio. I would think they would have made the 1870 census but had no luck with that either. I have tried contacting the court house for his birth cert. and tried the state as well. I would love to find his birth cert to have 7 generations of birth documented. Trying to find Cooks Corners has been my wall.

Does anyone on this list have any data about the parents of my grandfather, Edward Lafayette DAVIS? According to his death certificate from 22 Sept. 1923 in New Haven, Huron County, Ohio, his parents were Albert and Mary (SHELL) DAVIS. Also, according to his death certificate, he was born 09 Mar 1872, probably near Blanket Hill, PA. According to a genealogy of another branch of the family, his parents died young and he was raised as a foster child. Any data or suggestions about where to look would be appreciated!!!

Chamberlins Look Up Results-- Have you checked the 1880 census available at familysearch.org? There is at least one Albert and Mary Davis, in Franklin Co. PA, Metal Township. One of my family lines came from near there and because of poverty they sent several children to live with other families. In some stories this got changed to kidnapping and other explanations.
