In your first families, I see you have two families surnamed SCOTT. Would either of them have a Roxanne born around 1805?

Could someone with a copy of the cemetery book, please, look up Chauncey TUTTLE and his wife, Theodocia (spelling?). They are listed on page 70 in the index. Chauncey married a second time to a Sarah, but I don't believe she is there.

My great grandparents, George M. DILLON and Jane (Jennie) S. OGIER DILLON were involved in real estate in Bellevue in the 1880-90's. I am trying to find the birth certificate for their daughter, my grandmother, Edith Pearl DILLON. My mother told me that Edith was born Aug 25, 1880 in Chicago Junction. (Isnt that now called Willard?) I have looked in the Huron Co. court house for her birth certificate, and could not find it. What I did find was a certificate for a Jane DILLON, born Aug. 18, 1880 to George DILLON and Jannie OGIER. These are the correct parents, but not the correct name or date for the baby! On Edith P. DILLONs marriage application, she put her birthdate as Aug. 25, 1880 in Bellevue, Ohio. The death certif. says she was born in Chicago Junction. I'm confused! Id just like to find a correct record of her birth! I know Bellevue is on the county line. Since thats where her parents were living, could it have been recorded in another county? An article I have on George M. Dillon says he is a member of the M.E. Church. Is that church still in existence, or if not, who would have the church records for it? Maybe I could get more information on the family from them.

Ken Shute Look Up Results-- According to Ancestry.Com's World Tree Project (Denise Kline's Family), the marriage between Philo Baron SCOTT and Amelia BROWN took place on 27 Oct 1821 in Painesville, Lake County, OH. A composite of the information provided by these contacts follows- Name- Philo Baron SCOTT; Born- not given; Died- not given. There was no record of a marriage between Philo SCOTT and Amelia BROWN in our Huron County, Ohio Marriages, 1815-1900, by Scheuer Publications. There was little other information on these two in any of our other Huron County, Ohio publications. There are two references to Philo B. SCOTT in our History of the Fire Lands, by W.W. Williams, 1879. They are found on pages 353 and 355 in the Chapter on Fairfield Township, Huron County, OH. Page 353. States that in 1824, Philo B. SCOTT and Henry W. BROWN of NY State located on adjoining lots in Fairfield Township, Section 2, lots 36 and 37. Note- our Plat book of 1845 shows no listing for a Philo B. SCOTT, but a "SCOTT and MERRILL" is listed as part owner of Section 2, Lot 36, Fairfield Township. Page 355. States that a Philo B. SCOTT and a Henry W. BROWN were among 22 voters who elected officers for the new township of Fairfield following its organization in 1823.

Surnames: BUNCE, MILLER, MOREY

In an effort to "scrub" surrounding counties for early records (kept before records were required), I joined Huron List, hoping to learn by "lurking" how to search for birthplace and family of my ggf who listed the names of his parents on documents later in his life, as well as claiming birth in Ohio (at times), but varying birthplaces of his parents - and himself. The earliest I can find Wesley BUNCE is 1850 Richland Co, OH Census with an unrelated family, the MILLERs. It states he is 12 yrs old, but most records I have for him in his later life indicate his birth in 1842 Including CW Pension File, death cert, obit, headstone). I never find him with parents, or likely group nearby that would be related. No siblings, either. No names for his parents until a second marriage in 1910 when he lists Eliza MOREY and Reuben BUNCE. In census records he has most often indicated both their birthplaces in NY, but also indicated at times PA or "I don't know". I do realize he would not have always, with any certainty, been the one giving the information to the enumerator. I do have full records of his life and family after his marriage in 1867, just cannot find evidence of his birthplace and early life and family.

Need research on GILMER family from Huron and Erie Counties 1840-1860. Probate records, deeds, etc. Seeking name of father of Delena, James, Cemantha, and Jasper GILMER. Delena born in New London, Huron County in approximately 1846. Others born in Ohio (maybe Huron or Erie) 1830-1840. Mother was Harriet (?) from New York born 1802. Harriet remarried Levi BILLS in Erie County but he soon died. Harriet's first husband may have been from PA or NY according to census. Delena, James and Harriet later moved to Seneca County.

I have been trying to follow up adopted relation and received this will of Dougal CAMPBELL from Mary Carabin a long time ago. Anyways I believe some of the names in this document may have family connections (namely Thomas MORRIS). They lived in Margaretta Township, now a part of Erie but back in 1818 still part of Huron County. Here are the names- Seth HARRINGTON, Ebenezer HEARTWELL/HARTWELL, John FLEMING, and Daniel PETERSON. Also mentioned is Thomas MORRIS. Dougal's son John CAMPBELL married a Sarah MORRIS and had several children of only three I can name (Arena, Mary and Sylvia). I believe Thomas could be Sarah's father. From what I'm reading he left to Indiana sometime before her untimely death in 1830. Anyone who could fill in some info on the names I mentioned? I will post this on the Erie list as well.
