Anna Williams Look Up Results - In the Census that Ken had given, I believe that Agnes was the wife of Jacob A. SETZLER. He died in 1894. At least this is what my search has found.

My Uncle Jake BOWLES told me that my ggrandfather George BOWLES and my ggrandmother Ida ROGERS BOWLES are buried on a farm in North Fairfield. I think that is near Greenwich. I know some land records I have show him owning land in Ripley and they died around 1909 from what I can tell. Their children were raised by Ida ROGERS parents. My question is, how would I go about finding the farm they are buried at. Does anyone have a personal knowledge of this farm? My uncle said they are buried fairly close to the road. He did not recall if the markers are still there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The father, John STEERS, probably died in New York. Hannah and the last three children were found in Ionia County, Michigan in the late 1850's, early 1860's. I need to know what happen to Peter, Leafey(Relief/ Relepha), James, Samuel, and Mariah. I might have found Peter in Cuyahoga County.

James VAN SCOY 1807-1840. According to Melwood Van Scoyoc in Descendents of Cornelis Aertsen Van Schaick, James VAN SCOY "was a farmer in Yates County, New York. The family moved to Huron County, Ohio in the 1850's. After James died in May 1860, Sarah and daughter Charlotte became Tailors. George, Simmons and William were engaged in farming." The published cemetery inscriptions of Huron County, Ohio, list "VAN SCOY, James, bur. 6 Mar 1860" in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk Township based on burial cards. The 1850 census shows this family in Milo, Yates County, New York. James VAN SCOY, 42, m, laborer, New York; Sarah, 32, f, New York; Simeon, 12, m, New York; William, 10, m, New York; George, 9, m, New York; Sharlot, 7, f, New York; Cordelia 2, f, New York. The 1860 census shows this family in Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio. Sarah VANSCOY, 43, f, tailoress, New York; William, 20, m farmer, New York; Charlotte, 17, f, New York; Simmons, 23, m, laborer, New York; Geo, 24, m, New York; Adelia, 12, f, New York; unnamed, 3/12, f, Ohio. According to Williams's 1879 history of Huron and Erie Counties, William was a member of the 3rd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Calvary, Company F and was mustered out 4 November 1864. According to Melwood Van Scoyoc, "In 1900 he was living in the National Home for Disabled Soldiers in Jefferson T., Montgomery County, Ohio." I am looking for information on their descendants, particularly about any husband and children of Cordelia/Adelia. I'm also trying to determine whether this family is related to the Abraham VAN SCOY who lived in Greenwich Township, Huron County, Ohio. (Melwood Van Scoyoc writes that James and Abraham are first cousins but I have not been able to document this.)
