Could you please do a cemetery look up for me? I am looking for Carl/Karl KREBS b. April 18, 1818 in Germany. He married Elizabeth (UNKRICH) who was b. in 1824. I believe that Carl and Elizabeth KREBS might be buried in Huron County. The last I found Elizabeth she was living near Monroeville, Ohio. I am trying to help a man in Germany who has access to church records connect with Germans that moved to the United States. These names were listed and it is believed they originally lived in Sandusky, Erie Co., then moved to Huron Co.

While looking for information on someone in my family tree, I came across the USGenWeb index for the Huron County Cemetery Inscriptions index. SHINABERY, page 225, Willard E. SHINABERY, page 225, Paul E. SHINABERY, page 270.

I am seeking information on Joseph REAMER of Peru Twp. who died some time around 1851. Believe he had two brothers in the area - Jacob and Anthony. Joseph was married to Mary SCHEER on 19 Oct. 1836, and the Rev. Peter Hart officiated. He had a previous wife named Elizabeth and this couple is listed as selling land in the area in 1833. They were Catholic, and I am seeking the place of burial as well as any other information on them. When did they come to Huron County? Where were they naturalized?

I am looking for information about a man by the name of J. HEETER that made coverlets. I have a coverlet by him dated 1849, J. HEETER, Scipio Twp, Seneca Co, OH. Someone thought that since Scipio Twp borders on Huron County perhaps someone in that area might know of this person. It would be interesting to know about his life, property, etc. and or descendents. Another lady found information of a John HEATER, (spelled different) in an 1850 census. Perhaps the census had it spelled incorrectly.

I would greatly appreciate any information that would help identify the parents of my grandfather, Edward Lafayette (Lafe) DAVIS. According to his death certificate, he was born in Blanket Hill, OH on March 9, 1872 and his parents were Albert DAVIS and May SHELL, both born in PA. However, for the 1900 census, Lafe stated that he was born in PA. He married Harriet SNYDER in New Haven on October 14, 1896 and died there on September 22, 1923. According to a history of the RUBINS family, published by a distant cousin, "Edward's parents died young and he was raised by foster parents".

We are trying to confirm the parents of Patrick MURRAY who died in Wakeman on April 14, 1904 at age 80. He was a farmer, supposedly from County Galway. His will was probated in Huron County and the heirs were sons William and Patrick; daughters Mary MURRAY, Anna FAHE (probably FAHY), Margaret O'BRIEN and Katy CONRY; son-in-law Michael O'BRIEN; granddaughter Fannie DONOVAN. Patrick MURRAY was married twice, his first wife being Margaret MURRAY, who died May 16, 1875 at age 42. She died of childbed fever. His second wife was Mary CLARK. Our family descends from John and James MURRAY, who settled in Wakeman in the late 1850s. We're trying to confirm whether or not Patrick was their brother.

Searching for two BURTON burials or obituaries in the 1836 to 1840 time period. First, a female BURTON died between 1836-1839, the first wife of Abraham/Abram BURTON living in Jackson Twp, Seneca Co, OH. Abraham married 2nd (with 3 children) Mary Elizabeth ORWIG in 1839 in Sandusky, OH. I have a court case settling Abraham's estate but nothing on details of death of death, obituary, or burial information on Abraham or his first wife. Since Huron County borders Seneca, I wonder if either or both could have been reported and/or buried in Huron County. Would appreciate any info or suggestions. I was wondering if any of you could locate a Josephine MILLER, born bef 1850, who was the widow of a Benjamin MILLER and lived in Norwalk, OH. I see two Josephine MILLERs located with one having 3 numbers next to it and the other having one. There are three numbers for just Josephine- 293, 509, and 512. There is one number for Josephine A- 736. The Josephine I'm looking for would be the sister of my great great grandfather Matthias FRITZ.

I am trying to find the family of Charles ARNOLD. In the 1930 census he is listed in Clarksfield Twp. of Huron County @ 36, his wife Jeannette @ 43 and two children, Doris @ 10 and William @ 6. Jeannette died from the results of a train accident at the age of 48, her son would have been 11. Perhaps Charles remarried. Jeannette's Mother was living in Elyria and Jeannette is buried there. I have no clue of the others where-abouts. I can't find them in the 1920 census either.

Does anyone know if there are any remnants of the CARLEY family - James, father of Albert A., James, Jr., and Hannah who were in Clarksfield in the1840's? Hannah had been engaged to Ariel GIBSON when they lived in upstate NY and the couple had been told each other had died while he was away on business. When she came to visit her brother she found Ariel had married Polly MEAD of Clarksfield. Their romance rekindled and they ran off together leaving Polly and a son in Clarksfield - from the Pioneer History of Clarksfield - by Dr. F. E. Weeks. My family in upstate NY was through an Albert A. and Hannah COVEY CARLEY - he died in 1821 in Camden, Oneida Co., and she in 1846 in Palatine, Cook, IL. I am curious because of the name repeats in this later generation. The only member of the CARLEY family to remain in Ohio, as far as I can tell, was the father, James. Is there any history of him left in the area?
