Looking for a death record out of Norwalk Ohio..not at county offices or city office. There was an obit in the newspaper and I got that. Want to see if mother's name is listed (know the fathers name) she died when William Augustus FRANCIS was abt 3 yrs old, in 1835 on the ship ride over out of France he died in Jan of 1910..that's why I am so surprised there is no record of his death at county health dept..where else would I look..his wife died in 1907 so no record of her is understandable.

I am thinking of ordering a death record on a lady I found who might be related to my BAKER line from North Fairfield. She died in 1918. I know that the Ohio Historical Society holds these records, and I have the certificate number to order. One question- does anyone know if parents' names were listed on the records this early? They aren't on the ones up to 1908. This is very important information for me. Her name was Martha BAKER DAVIS. She was born in 1874 and died on June 16, 1918 in North Fairfield, Huron. The volume number is 2618 and the certificate number is 38231.

Wayne French Look Up Results - Dotia, or Dosia Anna WAUGH is the fifth child and fourth daughter of Lansing WAUGH and Theodocia A. MINER. William H. PIERCE's date of birth may in fact be August 19, rather than August 9, but I am not positive of that date. You can also find some information on him listed in the Records of the Wakeman Congregational Church, 1844-1971, as posted on the Wakeman Library Website. I would love to correspond with you, as I am related to both the PIERCE and WAUGH families.

I am seeking any information that would help identify the parents of my grandfather, Edward Lafayette (Lafe) DAVIS. According to his death certificate, he was born in Blanket Hill, OH on March 9, 1872 and his parents were Albert DAVIS and May SHELL, both born in PA. However, for the 1900 census, Lafe stated that he was born in PA. He married Harriet SNYDER in New Haven on October 14, 1896 and died there on September 22, 1923. According to a history of the RUBINS family, published by a distant cousin, "Edward's parents died young and he was raised by foster parents".

I'm tracking down my great-grandparents and I think I found them in the Huron County Cemetery Index. Could you please let me know the specifics for WILLIAMS, Hannah and Joshua, p. 398. If they appear to be my G*Grandparents, I would also be interested in the birth records of my Grandfather. My Grandfather's SS app gave his birthplace as Huron, OH and Joshua and Hannah as his parents (I've got my fingers crossed that I've found the right couple).

The online IGI site (www.familysearch.org) gave the following information- John DELANO, born 9 Apr 1813 in Oneida, NY. Father was Nathaniel DELANO; mother was Rebecca SMITH. Children were- 1.John William DELANO born abt. 1844 in Huron, Ohio; died in Civil War. 2. Stephen Orlando DELANO born 30 Sep 1842 in Huron, Ohio; died 24 Jun 1879 in Eden Prairie Conway (now) Kansas. I could find no other references to the Stephen POOL, John S. DELANO, and David LANCASTER families in our Huron County, Ohio publications, including our Cemetery Inscription book, History of the Firelands, Death Index 1867-1908, 1845 Plat book, 1873 Atlas, and the R.B. Hayes Obituary Index. I have the impression that these families, with the possible exception of John & Elizabeth POOL and family listed in the 1870 Census Index, had a relatively short stay in Huron County, Ohio, perhaps moving away not long after 1852.
