Request information from the cemetery book for the following people- Nancy BRIGGS- p 184; Minnie L. HARTELL- p 188; Frances HOPKINS- p 476; Loise PEAT- p 690. I have reason to believe these ladies were all sisters and somehow migrated to Huron County in the late 1880s (or earlier). I would be interested in any information the book may provide.

Request information on Louisa E CHANING on page 566. There was a Benjamin COLE and wife Eunice CALKINS COLE (whose father, Salmon CALKINS, is also buried in Huron county) who had a daughter named Louisa E and it appears she is related to the COLEs, so maybe... Anyway, if you could check her dates for me?

I'm trying to locate the burial place and tombstone information for the following family. All the children and the mother apparently died of consumption between 1886 and 1894. Some of the children's obituaries state they were buried in North Fairfield, but do not give the name of the cemetery. 777 - Electa Ann WEST (Alexander, John, Hugh, John, John, Roxanna) was born around 1840 in Ohio, the daughter of John WEST and Roxanna CANEDY. She was married on December 7, 1865 in Sandusky County, Ohio to Martin J. FORD. Martin was born around 1841 in Ohio. In 1870 the family was living in York Township, Ohio. In 1880 they were living in Fairfield, Ohio. Children- 1612 - Hiram E. FORD, b. about 1867, d. March 3, 1894; 1613 - Ina A. FORD, b. about 1869; 1614 - Francis L. FORD, b. April 15, 1870, d. October 1891; 0000 - Laura FORD, b. about 1872; 1615 - George G. FORD, b. October 17, 1874, d. November 24, 1891; 1616 - Lucy FORD, b. March 17, 1878, d. I am researching Eva BEAL DECKER. Her husband was Christopher DECKER. She was born in Germany Feb. 2, 1825 and died April 8, 1913 in Vermilion, OH. I understand that Vermilion is in two counties so that's the reason I'm on the Huron list. I would like to know what Cemetery she is buried in. Maybe get a death certificate from the city. I am trying to find her birthplace and am told its Hitchenhousen Reihn, Byarn. I have been unable to find that town on a German map. I noticed on your web site the name BEALL. Our family is BEAL. In a German book the name is spelled in many different ways. I know that in Germany it was BIEHL. I was wondering if there was any connection. I also noticed the name AMERMAN. That was my wife's maiden name. Her father came from Ypsilanti, Mi. That's not too far from the Ohio border.

Ken Shute Look Up Results - I was unable to find your Eva BEAL DECKER or husband Christopher DECKER in our Huron County, Ohio publications, but I did find some DECKERs (not Eva or Christopher) in Vermilion Township, Erie County, Ohio. You stated that Eva had died in "Vermilion, OH." The town of Vermilion is located in the far, northeast corner of Erie County, on Lake Erie. Here's what I found- 1. Erie County, Ohio Cemetery Census Before 1909, published 1989. Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion Township. Charles C. DECKER b. 1896 d. 1900. George DECKER b. 1798 d. 1873. Sarah DECKER b. 1855 d. 1856, 1 yr. Ohio Veterans Home, Perkins Township. Barnhardt DECKER age 51 d. 07-10-1894, bur. OVH, Nr. 2411. 2. 1896 Atlas, Erie County, Ohio shows Charles DECKER and E. DECKER owning property in Vermilion Township, Section 1. The cut-off date for information in our Erie County, Ohio Cemetery Census book is 1909. Since the death year you gave for Eva BEAL DECKER is 1913, her inscription wouldn't be expected to have appeared in our Cemetery Census book. However, you could try to contact the Township Coordinators of this Cemetery Project for Vermilion Township, Erie County, Ohio to see if they can help you in trying to locate the burial of Eva BEAL DECKER, or her husband, within one of the cemeteries in Vermilion Township (Maple Grove, Maple Grove Township Section, or Orchard Beach). Their names are: Mr. and Mrs. Amos Feiszli 850 Douglas Vermilion, OH 44089. (The Forward to this Cemetery Census book includes the statement-"Readers of this volume can contact the township coordinator for additional information and/or read the microfilm at Sandusky (presumably Sandusky City, Erie County, OH) Public Library for the entire collection (again, presumably including records after 1909)". If you go to the Ohio Death Certificate Index (website www.ohiohistory.org/dindex), select the period beginning 1913, and enter the name Eva DECKER in the search engine, you will find the details for her death as follows- County Name- Erie Date of Death- 4/8/1913 Volume Number- 1050 Certificate Number- 21556. There's a link on this same page that will tell you how to obtain a copy of this death certificate. Also, in Ancestry.com, Eva DECKER is shown appearing in the Ohio 1910 Census Miracode Index as follows: Age- 84 Birthplace- Germany County- Erie, Vermilion Relation- Head of Household State- OH Enumeration District- 0071 Visit- 0120 Other Residents- Edith S. HAHN, granddaughter, age 26, Ohio.
