Seek info re Joseph & Sally JUNE rem Stamford, CT ca 1804 to Fitchville, (Huron) OH. Joseph HULL died ca 182 in Fitchville. I need to find death records for him. Where did Sally JUNE go after 1842? Seek info re ancestors of Amanda COLE who m Reuben JUNE. They had a girl, Mary and one boy, George JUNE. Amanda died in 1849 when the children were small. What happened to the two children? One of them must have been alive in 1890 when Reuben died as his first family was listed there. Reuben JUNE married 2) Laura (Cordelia/Orra) HULL in 1855 in Huron Co, OH and lived in Hartland, (Huron) OH and they had 3 girls by 1866. They divorced in 1870, possibly in OH, IA, or CO. Seek info re one of the girls. Did one die in Huron Co? Laura JUNE was in Four-Mile, (Boulder) Co by 1872 with only two girls. Either Anna JUNE or Sarah Francis JUNE must have died somewhere along the way. Two of the girls married in Four-Mile, but one of them had a different name, so I do not know which one was alive at that time though newspapers state that she was her mother. Seek info re death of Z.W. (Zunri) HULL in Huron Co, OH.

Update on Peter G. DECKER from the Orange Co., NY/Sussex co., NJ to Huron/Seneca Co., OH area. I'm still looking for his family in the Minisnk area & their connection to the John/Jacob/Harmon COURTRIGHT family of same. Also in the 1850 Huron Co., OH area was this DECKER family. Would love to connect him to the Peter mentioned before. This family has known connections to the COURTRIGHTS, as Catherine was the d/o Leonard BRINK & Rachel COURTRIGHT. But my question is how does he, if in fact he does, connect to my COURTRIGHTS. Rachel COURTRIGHT was the d/o Bastian C. & Rachel DECKER. Interestingly another child, Solomon b. 1754 also moved to Huron co., OH & died there in 1844. I would suspect that my John was a son except that the name Solomon never appears in the family. However Harmon B. COURTRIGHT (who I've posted a message on previously) b. 6/24/1827 NY - d. 5/23/1897 Huron co., OH could be a desc. of Solomon. 1 Richard DECKER b: 1764 NJ d: Aft. 1850 Huron co., OH .. +Catherine BRINK b: 1777 Orange Co.,NY m: Nov 20, 1790 Machemack RDC, Orange Co., NY, by Rev. My John Courtright of the Minisink Valley also moved to the Ohio River Valley area by 1800. A Jacob VAIL bought land in Seneca Co., OH in 1841, by 1850 some of both VAIL & COURTRIGHT families had moved from Jefferson co., OH to Huron/Seneca Co., OH.

Would be interested in following up on any SANDERS that went through Huron County in the early 1800s. One family settled in Erie County and another went on to Lake County Indiana. This family may have originated in Groton MA where they are recorded in the Vital Records as SANDERSON. When they were in New York, they were listed as SANDERS. Sometimes it is recorded as SAUNDERS. Any SANDERS/SAUNDERS in that time period of late 1700's to 1835 would be interesting to me if they came out of the New York geographical area. Perhaps to work on the Erie Canal?

Researching the COURTRIGHT, CORTWRIGHT, etc. family. I have recently been able to connect my John COURTRIGHT of Columbiana & Jefferson Co., OH to his family in NJ. He was most likely the s/o John CORTRIGHT & Susanna KITTLE. Many of the people of the Minisink Valley (Sussex Co., NJ & Orange Co., NY) left the area after the Rev. My John COURTRIGHT left w/ at least 2 others- Jacob FIGLEY & Abraham WESTFALL. At first they settled in Washington Co., PA. Some ended up in Beaver Co., PA when that county was formed. Some moved in 1818 to Columbiana Co., OH when that land opened. I have looked in land deeds for almost all these counties & have never found John COURTRIGHT mentioned. However, he raised 12 children, only 10 are known. They lived mainly in Columbiana & Jefferson until 1830, then spread out.

Cindy Owens Look Up Results - All the COURTRIGHTs connect if you go back to the early 1700's. My John COURTRIGHT didn't live too far from the (W)VA border, even when he moved to Ohio. Yes that's the same Susanna KITTLE, she married 2x, didn't know abt the 3rd. She had her last child baptized in 1780 (my ancestor John CORTRIGHT); however, I have no proven date of death for her husband, so she could have married a 3rd time. There were actually 2 different branches of CORTRIGHTs in Huron Co., OH. Solomon (s/o Bastian K & Rachel DECKER) died in Huron Co in 1844. His kids however moved on, don't think anyone stayed. In my line 2 sons of my John COURTRIGHT ended up there. Neither are my direct line however I'm very interested in them. Thanks to Mary Bickford I was able to make a little headway on the Huron folks. Sometime between 1831-1839 Jacob V. COURTRIGHT, oldest s/o John, moved to Norwich Twp., Huron. From 1840-1920 I find some of this family there & in nearby Attica, Seneca Co., OH. Jacob was married to Polly THOMAS c1819 in Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson or Columbiana Co., OH. In the 1820 Columbiana Co. census they had 1 daughter. By 1830 in Jefferson Co., OH 3 children including John & Harmon B. COURTRIGHT found later in Huron as well. In Harmon's military history found on pg 17 of Military History of Huron County, Ohio (Civil War), by HCC/OGS, 1989, it gives his birthplace as Carroll Co., OH & names his parents. It goes on to say that his mother was the d/o a War of 1812 Vet & related to a Rev. War General, first names not given however. Harmon married Harriett Maria THATCHER 1839 in Seneca Co. They had 5 children & this is where it gets tangled. His youngest son Grant COURTRIGHT married his 2nd cousin Martha COURTRIGHT c1893, either in Huron, Seneca or Carroll Co., OH. Martha was the d/o James COURTRIGHT & Barbara COOK. James was the s/o Isaac COURTRIGHT & Sarah NORRIS, & Isaac was the brother of Jacob V. COURTRIGHT. James C. & Barbara COOK lived most of their life in Carroll Co but at some time moved up to Huron. They are buried in the New Greenwood Cem., in New Haven Twp., Huron Co.

Can anyone tell me if the Nehemiah WESTBROOK listed in the Bloom Twp 1850 Seneca Co census pg 146 has a wife named Blandina or Dina? This could be the clue I've been looking for. Blandina KITTEL was the 1st cousin of my John COURTRIGHT who I've previously asked abt here. She married Nehamiah WESTBROOK c1806, I don't know when they moved to Huron/Seneca Co., OH. Jacob V. COURTRIGHT moved to Huron/Seneca 1831-1835. Jacob's father (John) & siblings all stayed in the Columbiana, Carroll, Harrison Co., OH area until at least 1850. My branch then moved to Adams Co., IN, but most stayed in the Ohio Valley area.

The Jacob V. COURTRIGHT also found in Huron Co was the grandson of John COURTRIGHT & Susanna KITTLE. His father, also John, was bap. at Port Jervis 11/1/1780. Who else from the Minisink area came to Huron Co., OH? Do you know who the DECKERS & WESTFALLS in the area are? Also in 1850 next door to Jacob V. COURTRIGHT was Simon WESTFALL, his wife Esther BRINK & their daughter Jane married to Peter G. DECKER. I believe Simon was the s/o David WESTFALL & Phoebe MIDDAUGH. Esther was the d/o Jacobus BRINK & Ariantje ROSENKRANS. Not sure who Peter DECKER was, there were several born around the same time, 1807. Could he be the s/o the Richard DECKER b. 1764, also in Huron Co., in 1850? Richard was married to Catherine BRINK 1777, the d/o Leonard BRINK & Rachel COURTRIGHT. Is it more than coincidence that these cousins all ended up near each other in Huron Co., OH?

David EIKLOR was married to Blondina AKA Rebecca HUYCK; David was born in Minisink, the oldest son of Frederick and Sarah (BARKER) EIKLOR. As early as 1830 David and Blondina whose mother was Margaret (WESTBROOK) HUYCK were in Huron County. But with the 1838 break up of the County, David and his family were on the southern edge of Erie County, Berlin Township. In 1847 they removed to LaGrange County IN where they lived until October 1850. I do not know if they relocated to Erie County to live with a son George EIKLOR/ECKLER/ECKLOR and his wife Lydia (HARP). I am suspecting Blondina died 1854-55 as her husband David makes his home with David's son and daughter-in-law in Genoa IL. Just spent a few days in Sandusky and Norwalk researching land records and am trying to sort out matters. But yes there were EIKLORs from the Minisink area. Machmech and Walpeck and I have encountered that COURTRIGHT name all over the same territory as the EIKLORs were.

Tom Neel Lookup Results-- I have a few things on the PROBASCO family, but didn't really come up with anything concrete. There is an Ida PROBASCO, baptized at Jamaica, Queens Co NY, on 12 Oct 1714, sponsors Auke RYNIERSE and Ida RYNIERSE. Parents, Jan PROBASCO and Arientje REINIERSE. She is also named in the will of John PROBASCO, made 27 Nov 1744, probate 1 May 1749. Ida PROBASCO supposedly married Jacob LOTT. Jacob PROBASCO, brother of the above Jan, also had a daughter named Ida. Jacob was born 8 Jul 1682 Brooklyn (also recorded Flatbush); d. 1756; m. 1707 Mary van Liew, daughter of Frederick and Dinah (Hendrickson) van Liew. Jacob's will was dated 22 Dec 1752 and named the daughter. I don't know who she married. She was second born, so fits well with the birthdate you have. If this is the correct Ida, Jacob PROBASCO's parents were Christoffel Jurrianse PROBASCO 1649 - 1707/08 and Eytie STRYCKER, b. 1651, elsewhere "Ida" STRYCKER, daughter of Jan STRYCKER and Lambertje SEBRING. "Stoffel" PROBASCO, baptized 6 Jun 1649, was a son of Jurrian PROBASCO and Heyltien AERTSS. Stoffel's will (Liber A, p. 91, Flatbush) was made 29 Jul 1687 at Midwout. His wife was named "Lytie" in this. I'm related to one of these guys but do not have my chart handy - a Lammetje PROBASCO who married Jan VAN ARSDALEN is mine. This family married into the CORTELYOU's who married into the STULTS line who ended up in Huron County via Ontario Co NY.

Is anyone researching the line of Ida PROBASCO (b.1711) who married William POST (b. 1705)? I know this family , or rather desc.moved to Cayuga Co., NY. I find some POSTs from NY in the 1850 & 1880 Huron Co., OH census records. This particular family is not my direct but collateral. Ida's sister was my ancestor & my POST line daughters out very early. Would love to connect the OH POSTs to their NY family, I just need the missing link.
